I have been a CHAMPS volunteer [Monticello, R. A. Long, and Kessler] and working for DCYF as a Special Needs FFN Caregiver for the last 5 years while attending college so I already have my MERIT and STARS numbers. Hi, my name is Renatha, I'm 29 and I'm from Brazil. I've been here in the US for almost 7 years. I have a 3yo girl and a 18mo boy. I can either bring one of them as a playmate or they can stay at home with grandma. When taking care of kids I like playing and interacting with them, reading books and sometimes I try to teach some Portuguese. Arts and crafts is usually their favorite, along with going to a playground nearby.. I like letting the kids explore and have fun, even if that means they get a little dirty (of course, with the families that are okay with that). My favorite thing to do is hiking and learning about plants. Every hike I bring along my plants book and I always find something interesting and new. I've learned some plants are eatable, some are medicinal and some are poisonous. Now I know which plants to stay away and which to have it around. My favorite hike was an amazing 3 day hike, 37 miles round trip to a blue glacier right in the middle of the Olympic national forest. That was amazing! *** I do have a bad review, I had to cancel short notice. My car was just not starting and jumping didn't help it. Since then I've got it fixed and I have no more problems with it. ***

She’s been awesome! We’ve hired her long term after the first few days we had hired her. She goes out to play, crafts and food for our little one and she loves her!

The wonderful thing about loving your job is it’s easy to show up with a smile and a positive attitude. I really like working in the care sector and especially enjoy watching children grow, learn and become individuals. I live alone so I have flexibility with my schedule. I do have a cat if you are allergic. I am hoping to focus on childcare for all ages. In the past 14yrs I’ve cared for, and spent time with, children between the ages of 4 and 17, between 1[removed] I had experience with infants and toddlers. My niece and nephews are my greatest joy. One nephew is neurodivergent and my niece is special needs, I only mention this because it taught me patience, healthy coping skills and communication. Practically speaking, what I can offer: 1) I can cook and bake, focusing on vegetable heavy dishes. If you have a craving for spanakopita or NY cheesecake? I can provide. 2) I’m a very safe driver with a reliable car. I haven’t had a car accident or traffic ticket since 1995. I’m more than happy to drive to do errands, pick up groceries, do school pick ups & drop offs and trips to the soccer field. 3) I’m a VERY creative person! I have a ton of arts and crafts supplies that I can bring for everything from watercolors to polymer clay sculpture. I’m also good with stories, silly songs and funny dances. 4) I am happy to help with a little homework (familiar with Montessori teaching practices) playing games, reading nighttime stories and TALKING with children to develop vocabulary and communication. I should mention I’m open to being a support person for child birthday parties or group outings. I’d be thrilled to do elder care and am very respectful, soft spoken when appropriate, and would be just as happy playing cribbage as reading whatever is of interest to my client. I honesty enjoy looking at family photo albums and listening to THEIR stories. I volunteered for 11 years at a care facility painting the ladies nails and reading to male and female clients. Have experience working with clients who have dementia. And finally I can do cat and small dog sitting duties. I have had cats living with me for decades, and few dogs too. I’m very pet friendly. No housecleaning duties other than laundry, dishes, counters and picking up after play time. Hope this inspires you to message and/or meet with me to see if I’m the right fit for you and your family. Have a great day!

My kids loved her. The perfect personality for children - warm, caring, positive, upbeat, reliable. She made food for my children and we will definitely hire again!

Sally $23 per hour for 1 child

Hi! My name is Sally and I love children & pets and serving parents’ needs for care, transporting, light cooking, cleaning, as well as errand-running when needed. I have operated my own loving and successful licensed childcare when my own children were young. I have worked both professional and labor jobs in my community. I approach my work with a positive attitude and its important to me that each child feels safe and know that they are loved, unique, capable, and important. I respect boundaries & apply a Safety-First mindset. Besides raising my own 2 children who are now grown, I have extensive experience as a co-leader of a Kids Club program that served inner-city children & youth in South Seattle. I also have some special needs experience both before and after having my own children. Additionally, I have life-long experience caring for large & small dogs and a variety of cats of my own and others, including hamsters, a lizard and a turtle. Others’ dogs and cats seem to really love me, so it’s mutual😊🐶🐈‍⬛. I also have a masters degree in public administration, have worked for years doing social work throughout Thurston, Pierce and Mason counties and I have worked various labor jobs from food & auto parts delivery to pulling fenceboards at a sawmill. I bring a positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic. I have received more trainings than i can list here, including first aid & CPR and mental health first aid. I support movement/exercise & can share about nutrition of foods in a positive, encouraging way. I am also quite capable with household odd jobs and I own my home, doing most updating work myself. I may be higher on the hourly rate chart, but I am more than worth it. I am open to negotiation as well & i give a slight discount to single moms & families in hardship situations. Most importantly, I am engaging with each child according to their personality and comfort. I consistently support parents’ expectations of their child(ren), and am ALWAYS honest, trustworthy and transparent. I am genuine & flexible. I am excited to meet you, your child(ren) & any pet family members too! Last, but not least, i wash my hands upon entry each time and practice careful food handling and prevention of spreading germs, etc. I am so rarely sick and have no allergies, so you never have to second guess about whether or not I am well and i have no problem caring for sick children when parent(s) absolutely must be at work.
