Hi families! My name is Makena, and I'm a 20-year-old student at the University of Kentucky originally from San Ramon, California and will be in San Ramon for the summer. I've always enjoyed working with kids and have experience babysitting, including caring for a 10-year-old boy over the summer, experience as a summer camp counselor, and helped as an assistant cheer coach for the summer at California high school. During my time babysitting, I helped with meals, transportation, activities, and making sure he had a fun and safe time. I am a 2nd grade teacher with an Early Childhood Education background. I have been teaching for 6 years. Prior to this I was a full time nanny or live in nanny from 19-26. I have cared for a variety of children from infants to teenagers. My primary care has been infants through age 8. I have cared for high special needs kids as well such as Down syndrome, autism, and childhood cancer. I also am a mom to a level 1 autistic child who’s 7. I am seeking part time work and would not be bringing my own child.
