La Petite academy and Sunshine playschool are more play based and child led, while Guidepost is a Montessori school. At La petite, we had more guidance in terms of the activities that the students were taking part in, and it was so fun to plan out. At sunshine playschool, we spent the days outside. Kaitlin and Meghan feel very strongly about a child-led program, so we were always paying attention to each child and what they were interested in learning about. We tailored the curriculum specifically to them, as well as taking their developmental processes and learning outcomes in mind. Guidepost is my first Montessori school, and I have definitely learned a lot. I really appreciate the self-sufficiency skills that the philosophy holds, and allowing the children to explore learning at their own pace.
