I just graduated from school with my Doctorate in Occupational therapy and am looking for extra babysitting to help with paying off my student loans. I work in early childhood mental health and school-based OT. I got my undergraduate degree from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon, with a major in Theater, emphasis in set construction. I also have a minor in Early Childhood Development. Before COVID I worked at Cal Shakespeare in Berkeley/Orinda. I have been working with children for the past 18 years as a date night sitter, a nanny, a childcare worker, and a preschool teacher. I have experience with all ages. I am CPR certified, and I recently just refreshed my certification. I love working with all types of children. I love to play games (inside and outside), watch movies, build forts, and I especially love arts and crafts with the kiddos.
Hi! I am just ending 8 great years as an after-school nanny and family assistant and before that 7 great years as a preschool teacher, working with kids aged 2. 5 --5. I worked within 3 classrooms, experiencing all the ages from toddlers to pre-k. I have worked with children of all ages on some level - babysitting, preschool, after-school care, summer programs and tutoring - for the past 30 years. I naturally gravitate to children and get on their level pretty easily while also maintaining the responsibility and authority a child might need when not in the care of parents. I've been babysitting children since I was 14, when I started watching over family friends' children. When I was 15 I started working at Strawberry Canyon Explorer Camp where I worked for 8 years teaching children ages 4-10. At camp I worked with kids one on one as well as in large groups. I've also spent years volunteering in local elementary schools. I love teaching and hope to be an elementary school teacher in a few years. I've primarily worked with kids ages 4-7 but have experience with older as well. I love bringing them outside and teaching them sports, as well as helping them with that tough math problem.
