Hello there, My name is Afsana—just like it’s spelled! A fun fact about my name is that it means fairytale or story, which I think is a perfect way to connect with children. Taking care of children is not as easy as many people think, but it’s something that has always come naturally to me. I’m the second oldest of seven siblings, so growing up I often took on the role of a second mom—making sure everyone was safe, supported, and taken care of. That experience helped me develop patience, responsibility, and a deep understanding of children. Another fun fact about me is that I work in the dental health field, mainly with kids. I work in a pediatric dental and orthodontic office, so you might occasionally hear me talk about dental health—please excuse me if I do! While I may not have formal childcare certifications, I have years of real-life experience caring for children and building meaningful connections with them. I enjoy engaging with kids through books, movies, games, and everyday activities. I truly believe that when you’re around children, you have to be a kid at heart. That’s how they feel comfortable opening up, being themselves, and sharing their little adventures with you. Many people have told me that I’m a “child whisperer” because of how naturally I connect with kids. I love their curiosity and I’m always happy to answer the thousand questions they tend to have. If I have the opportunity to babysit your child, I will always prioritize their safety, health, and happiness. Hello! I am YOLANI; I have a bachelor's degree in education. I worked in my country as a primary school teacher for ten years and my first language is Spanish. Hello. I am a former K-3rd grade teacher of many years. I have been working as a nanny for infants and toddlers since November of 2023. Our days are spent singing, playing, crafting, and reading.
