Hello Parents, I’m currently available for occasional babysitting and part-time childcare in Oakland. My childcare journey began in 2009, when I worked as an Au Pair in the Netherlands for a wonderful family with a seven-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl. After moving to the U.S. in 2011, I continued babysitting and have since gained experience with infants, multiples, and school-age children. Beyond keeping kids safe and supported, I focus on modeling kindness, curiosity, and respect. I enjoy supporting children as they build confidence, independence, and thoughtfulness. I have extensive experience with infants, babies (including multiples), toddlers, and school-age children. My most recent long-term childcare role was in 2021, caring for a one-year-old baby girl. Since then, I’ve continued babysitting regularly and maintaining long-term relationships with families. I’ve studied Child Development at Merritt College in Oakland, hold a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising with a minor in Cinema, and recently completed my MBA. Outside of work, I’m a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and enjoy walking, roller skating, playing music, reading, and watching movies. Hi families! I’m Diamond, a proud Bay Area native and someone who has always had a natural love for caring for children. While I currently work in the legal field, caring for children has remained a meaningful part of my life for over 15 years, and it’s something I genuinely look forward to doing in my evenings and weekends. My experience with children started at a young age as a babysitter and grew into working for daycares and becoming a personal nanny for several wonderful families while I was in college. Hi, I'm Ananda. I have a lot of experience caring for and teaching children. I have 18 ECE units and experience in preschool, elementary school, summer camp, and art workshops. I really love working with young children. I'm patient, compassionate, and a very good listener. I love reading, doing art, playing at the park, doing puzzles, singing songs, and anything else that is fun for kids. I am currently an After School Art teacher at the elementary level. I am First Aid/ CPR certified and will mainly be looking for work during the school summer break this year and will be open to ongoing occasional work during the school year. I love spending time outdoors and the idea of taking a walk with a kid and a dog sounds like a perfect summer afternoon. I love animals and have some experience walking dogs. I have more experience with cats although I'm mildly allergic to them. Additionally, I have cared for an elderly person helping with errands, rides, and support after surgery or injury. I am very open to helping a senior person. I love art, music, nature, and good conversation. I am also a person with strong reuse, recycle and diy interests. I love to repair things, like jewelry and clothes, and even stuffies! I love to participate in our local fix it fests and repair cafes. I have been teaching kids to sew and do crafts for over 3 years now. I have experience running creative workshops, which have included making earrings, bracelets, tissue paper flowers, skewer sculptures, slime, play dough, hula hoops, and sugar skulls w/ royal icing for Day of the Dead. Hi my name is Dessie. I have experience with babysitting children and dogs. I have past experience with childcare and also currently babysit from time to time. I used to work as a childcare facilitator, where I would do arts and crafts, learning activities, prepared snacks and schedule downtime for the littles. I currently babysit when time allows it and love to do art projects and fun creative sensory games with pantry foods. I also encourage to meet before babysitting to ensure it is a good fit. My experience with dogs has been in a span of several years whether is walking, dog sitting, or just taking care of my own. I have a dog of my own that is very sweet and gentle. In the past I would dog sit for a lot of friends and would also do dog walking for strangers (through dog-walking app) from time to time. I have always loved dogs and have been volunteering at shelters here are there. Outside of childcare and dog care. I work an administrative job for an environmental sustainable company. I often spend my down time rock climbing, running and organizing/ cleaning spaces. I thrive in an environment where I can organize and clean. Often if I am babysitting or dog sitting I will clean the home as much as I can when asked to. If that’s not something you’d like I will respect your space and home but will definitely clean after your pup or child. I know it’s tough finding someone to trust to be in your home and take care of your loved ones so I also encourage that having a nanny cam or pet cam to check in is a good way to have a piece of mind and am always open to any suggestions or constructive criticisms.
