Hi! My name is Leilah and I'm a recent graduate of SMU. I am almost a Certified Medical Assistant with hopes to apply to nursing school soon! I have all the first aid training needed as well as CPR due to my degree in Anatomy and Physiology. I have been a nanny for 2 families in the past 10 years. Each job involved picking up from school, taking them to various appointments and waiting until mom came or I took them back home. I would do light housekeeping and help with homework. I would take them to karate, swim lessons also. I babysit their dogs when needed. I’m still in touch with my girls and their parents. I continued to volunteer with an elementary school teacher for the next 20 years. I developed a relationship with these families. I attended birthdays and later their graduations. Unfortunately Covid was the end of my last nanny job. I have since moved to north county to be closer to the grandkids. I currently work 4 days a week until 1:30. I have some flexibility in case I was needed earlier. I have also self published a book to help young children learn to say polite words. I love young kids and I love spending time with them. There were times when one of them would tell me things they didn’t tell their moms. I became their confidante. However, if I was told something I thought their mom should know, I would tell her. It helped keep mom up to speed without breaking my confidence with the daughter.
