Hi there! I'm Lily. I'm 29 and was born and raised here in Los Angeles. I graduated from Barnard College in 2019 with a BA in American Studies and Film Studies. While in college, I was a sitter for the Barnard Babysitting Agency and for my work study, was an assistant teacher at Tompkins Hall Nursery. From the agency, I gained experience with all age groups ranging from two months to sixteen years old. Most of my jobs were usually taking care of at least two children at a time. At Tompkins, I mainly worked in the infant and toddler rooms where I played with the children, prepared bottles and meals, changed diapers, and cleaned the classrooms. I also spent some time helping out in the preschool and two's rooms. Right after undergrad I worked at We Rock the Spectrum for a few months (then the pandemic hit), which was a blast. After I finishing my MFA in Game Design at Laguna College of Art and Design in 2021, I spent a couple of years traveling around Europe and spent a lot of my time back in the states in Montana. At the end of 2023 I decided to start babysitting again. However, most of my kids have transitioned into preschool so I am now open to working with some new families. Additionally, I spent four weeks this summer working with kids ages 7-13 at UCLA's Bruins on Broadway camp which was a lot of fun! I am currently taking classes as a post-bacc student at the University of Montana with the hope of applying to medical school in 2026. Some random facts about me: I have two younger sisters (twins), four cats, and two dogs. I used to ride horses, play soccer, and cheer. And I love history, theater, and reading!

Although I don’t have formal nanny experience, I was a nurse in Japan for 15 years. At my previous employment in Japan, I worked in the emergency room for three years and was a pediatrics nurse 2-3 times/month. I did triage for kids, checking the temprature/breaths, and helped docter's phlebotomy, making sure kids were getting nebulizers. Basically, I love kids, they make me smile! Adittionally, I am a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) in California with BSL certificate. Hello! My name is Melissa, and I have been babysitting for over 15 years now. I have also worked for after-school programs, summer day camps, sleep away camps, and more. I absolutely adore children, their bright energy is so contagious! I have experience with keeping children to their routines and schedules, as well as ample experience doing fun activities like arts and crafts, nature walks, and things that are enjoyable while encouraging development. MY EXPERIENCE: Working at a children's summer camp program at Sonoma State University called EXCEL, I was an Assistant Teacher for a Stage Combat class for kids ages 9-14, so I can take rough-housers and encourage them to expel energy in a safe way. I was also an Assistant Teacher for a Theatre Improv class for kids ages 6-12, for those who love to be silly, imaginative, and in the spotlight. Since joining UrbanSitter in 2013, I have experienced vomit, accidents/bed-wetting, tantrums, night terrors, and anxiety attacks while caring for children ages 12 weeks to 12 years old, and all of these challenges were overcome with care and efficiency. I have built long-term relationships with families as their primary and regular caregiver that span over several years. But most importantly, I have had the joy of experiencing hours of genuine smiles, laughter, and growth; for this reason, I look forward to every booking. MY PHILOSOPHY: Something that I respect very highly in children is individuality. I don't believe that kids can all be categorized as “just kids” - each is very different, with unique interests, values, boundaries, and comfort zones.
