Booked by 71 families in Stanford, CA

Hello, my name is Cagla. I hold a master’s degree and have been working with children and families since 2013. My experience includes working as an au pair in the U.S. as well as supporting families through after-school educational programs and family-focused care services. I understand the different needs of children at various developmental stages and adapt my approach accordingly, and I consistently receive positive feedback from families for my professionalism, responsiveness, and ability to build trust.

Cagla has been a repeat babysitter many times for us over the past year for our kids aged 2 and 4. She is punctual, responsive, and has great availability. She even traveled north of SF to babysit during a recent family trip, which gave us great piece of mind since we knew and trusted her already. What stands out about Cagla compared to other other caregivers we've worked with (and why we continue to work with her) is the amount of energy, drive and attention she has in her work with children. She knows what ages various milestones happen (e.g. separation anxiety) and is prepared to handle them. She always asks the important practical questions about routines and schedules, and provides a clear update at the end of the stay. She is warm and plays with our kids on their level, but also very clear with them when they are crossing boundaries they shouldn't. Our children look forward to spending time with her!

Years ago, my first profile picture on this site was criticized by a potential family for being too strange. I picked one way stranger in response (me in a unicorn onesie) until the 2024 powers that be on this site recently called it inappropriate. So, now I’ve found one off the charts strange with my head half shaved in the middle of a home COVID haircut ;-). Children are SO important to me—yes that means physical safety, but for me it also involves emotional safety. I want deeply for children and young people to love themselves and find their voices as they grow, but to do that they need to see adults who appreciate and take joy in their own uniqueness. That, more than any resume point, is what I offer to kids and families with fierce commitment. I have worked with children and young people in a variety of settings for thirty years. In my early days there was the usual teenage babysitting. I have also worked for summer camps and non-profits--designing, leading, and overseeing children's activities and programs. Next, I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English for the last thirteen years in both Southern California and the Bay Area, followed by ten years of nannying for children of all ages. Finally, I have started to move very organically into parental coaching, upon request of families I care/have cared for. I have special insight into neurodivergent kids and school engagement struggles. I am certified in CPR, First Aid, AED, have taken expressive arts therapy training, and have had multiple experiences working with autistic young people, in addition to being autistic myself. I am happy to help older children with their English homework and do Elmo's voice for the younger children in the fort we just built :) I am tidy, punctual, and you will not find me on my phone or devices while my attention should be on your child. I love and appreciate the curiosity, creativity, kindness, and honesty of all children, and I look forward to being part of the village that helps care for yours. Thanks, Water pronouns: he/him [removed] Ps. 8/18/26 I'll be gone from this platform when my membership expires because of their unnecessarily complicated policies about legal name changes that frankly border on transphobic. My profile will be hidden before then because I will no longer be doing updates. Find me soon on a sight that rhymes with Bear lot Tom under the name Water Woody for my regulars who do not already have my personal contact info.

Hello, I'm Stephany, a 28-year-old Brazilian living in the USA. I have a driver's license and am CPR certified, ensuring I'm prepared for emergencies. I also have my own car and a clean record. I'm patient, easygoing, and love spending time outdoors, whether it's walking, biking, or visiting parks. I have over five years of experience working with children. I used to work in a school back in Brazil, where I looked after more than 15 kids at a time. During the pandemic, I started caring for two children at my home. One was just 5 months old, and the other was 4 years old. I took care of them for a year and a half before moving to another country. In addition, I have two years of experience as an au pair, where I focused on studying behavior and discipline management, effective communication, child development, and time management. I'm passionate about caregiving because I find immense joy and fulfillment in nurturing and supporting others. Witnessing the growth and development of children is incredibly rewarding to me. I also love animals and have two dogs. Thank you for considering me.

Booked by 12 families in Stanford, CA

Hi families! I’m Marilyn! I'm CPR and First Aid certified and have experience caring for kids from toddlers to teens (ages 2–13). I love keeping things fun with outings to the park, library story times, or helping with ballet, swimming, and after-school activities. I’m currently working with a few local families and am happy to help with light errands, dog walks (I’m a big animal lover!), and keeping things tidy around the house. I’m reliable, warm, and always happy to plan ahead especially for date nights or evening babysitting. Looking forward to meeting your family!

We hired Marilyn twice. One to care for our 10 month old and the other, to care for our cats while we were away. Marilyn was prompt and communicative on both instances. She had a gentle energy which suited our baby and she read to our baby lots which I really liked. With our cats, she had to deal with following detailed instructions because our cats have different needs and feeding requirements. The visit went well and we didn’t have to worry about the pets going hungry while we were away. We would certainly hire Marilyn again!

Hiii!! My name is Carmina. I've been working with kids since I was 15. I started by watching my younger nephew and niece, and then began babysitting for kids in my neighborhood. Over the last few years l've worked primarily with babies and toddlers, but I love kids of all ages. Things that I like to do If it's nice out, I like to take the kids outside, go to the park, museums, go for walks or the beach if parents are comfortable with that. I’m a strong swimmer so your kids are always going to be safe with me. But if is not nice outside, I whip out my crafts skills, also love reading to kids, doing puzzles, playing with blocks, dolls or whatever the kids or babies are skill to play. In my free time I like to read, play basketball, a bit of soccer, and tennis! Also going to the beach . Spanish is my first language so I can teach to your kids Spanish. CPR and first aid certificate. Until recently I was taking care of a 21 months old baby full time, I take care of her since she was 7 weeks old. Before her I worked with a family for a year and half with a boy who was 4 months old when I started and was 2 years old when I finished and parents decided to sent him to preschool! two years, before him I work with a 2 years old and a new born. I still babysit for them for date nights or whole weekends if the parents need a break, they kids are now 5, 3 years old a 16 months old baby! I have a clean driving record and I can provide references.
