I grew up in northern California and moved to SD for school, where I graduated from SDSU. Over the past 11 years, I've had a wide range of experiences working with kids and have grown such a love for caregiving and creating a fun, safe space for little ones. I was a summer camp counselor for three years, where I developed camp curriculum and led children ages 5 to 12 in fun games, crafts and activities. I've also had approximately three years of experience as a respite care provider, where I gave in-home care to dozens of kids with varying developmental disabilities, ranging from toddler-age to late teens. I have enjoyed being a babysitter and full-time nanny for individual families in recent years as well, where my responsibilities have included diaper changes, driving to/from school, playtime, settling sibling squabbles, etc. I especially love getting creative with art projects, playing outdoors, and helping with homework/lessons. I am also comfortable with light cooking and cleaning around the house, running errands, house sitting, and caring for both cats and dogs. Hello! My name is Christine. I have been babysitting for several years. My first official job at 13 years old was through a work force program that allowed me to be a daycare worker and summer camp counselor at the daycare. I have several cousins and a handful of nieces and nephews that I have cared for before, during, and after my mother had her own daycare in our home. And I am currently a Substitute teacher focusing on Early Childhood Education! This means I am thrown into rooms with all the younger age groups every day or few weeks, learning new children regularly and adapting to new environments. I have my Early Childhood Professional Level 3 Credential through Colorado Shines PDIS with 1,928 logged hours working with Infants and Toddlers and 818 hours working with children age 8 or younger. I have also been observed by a NAEYC professional in an infant classroom and received a 100% score. I am CPR/First Aid Certified and well trained in diapering/potty training as well. I decided to start babysitting again because I am a college student and a full time job as a preschool teacher is not sustainable for me anymore with my busy schedule. Kids are so much smarter than we give them credit for and I feel like I learn more about the world and myself through working with children. My approach to caring for children is based on conscious discipline, although I understand care is different based on the needs of each child I work with. I also feel that one of the best ways to entertain and teach children is by playing with them instead of watching them play. A little bit about my personal life- I am 22 years old and have lived in Boulder for 4 years now. I moved to Colorado from Washington State to get my Bachelors in Geology from CU Boulder. I love spending time in nature, whether that’s rock climbing, backpacking, scuba diving or hiking. Any excuse to look at cool rocks! I live with my girlfriend and my cat, olivine (named after my favorite mineral). I enjoy reading, yoga, and making homemade ice cream in my free time.

I'm bubbly, energetic, and creative, and I love spending time with kids. I have been babysitting kids of all ages for over five years now.
