Catherine Sampson $18 per hour for 1 child

As a driven educator with a Master's degree in Technical Communication and a Bachelor's in English Literature, I have over five years of tutoring experience specializing in creative writing, essay editing, and technical writing. Beyond tutoring, I have a diverse background in working with children and young learners: I spent several years as a part‑time ice skating instructor, served as a camp counselor at Camp Allen for two summers, worked at a church during Vacation Bible School and provided babysitting care for three families throughout high school. These experiences strengthened my ability to connect with students of different ages and cultures, foster patience and create supportive environments. My teaching philosophy centers on cultivating a collaborative and encouraging space where students feel empowered to express their ideas and improve their writing skills. I strive to connect with each learner by understanding their unique perspectives and goals, guiding them toward both academic success and personal growth. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy writing fiction and following current events. I am dedicated to helping students not only excel academically but also discover and refine their own voice through writing.

Jasmine $20 per hour for 1 child

I have over a year of experience working in a school setting, primarily with K3 and K5 age groups, where I supported young children in their daily routines, learning activities, and social development. Working in the classroom has helped me build strong skills in patience, communication, and creating a structured yet fun environment for kids. In addition to my school experience, I have also babysat on the side, giving me one-on-one experience caring for children and managing responsibilities. I enjoy planning engaging activities such as walks around the park, playing games in the backyard, arts and crafts, reading storybooks, outdoor scavenger hunts, and creative play that keeps children active and entertained. My background has helped me become dependable, attentive, and confident in providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where children can learn, grow, and feel comfortable.

$15 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 3 families in Washington, DC

I am a recent graduate of Elon University, with a degree in Statistics with a concentration in Actuarial Science with minors in Asian Studies, Finance and Accounting. I was a Camp Counselor at the JCCSF several summers ago, have volunteered at The First Tee of San Francisco, The First Tee of San Francisco, Horizon's (an organization that serves underserved students) and have been babysitting for eight years for kids for a wide age range. I love babysitting because I get to build relationships with the kids I babysit, and working with kids is something I love. I now currently reside in Alexandria, Virginia working at an accounting firm in their Advisory practice!

We loved that Samantha was very personable and easy going. Our son took to her immediately. She arrived on time and was interested in his routine. She asked good questions and was enjoyable to be around. We will definitely hire her again. As new parents, knowing that she’s infant CPR certified gave us extra confidence so we could really enjoy a relaxing evening out.

Impacting children positively is what I love to do. With five years of experience caring for children aged 0-12+, I bring a calm and patient, yet energetic and fun, approach to childcare.
