A little about me: I am in my early twenties, just graduated from the University of Iowa and I work in advertising downtown. As for my experience with watching over kids, I have worked many years as a camp counselor at a high-end sailing camp in the British Virgin Islands, and have also been a student volunteer at a primary school in New Zealand. Babysitting was second nature to us. Migrating from Guatemala , my mother’s specialty was babysitting but primarily teaching . However struggles came in the way , the language barrier being one of them provided me with my first job at 8 years old as a translator . . I not only was “working” but it served me as it helped me practice my second language but most importantly I found much meaning and value in my mothers work...I loved going, I was able to make friends with their kids , build relationships and left inspired . Along the way, I was blessed with having nephews and nieces. Nine now! Growing up as a tight-knit family we’re always around to help each other out.
