Hi! I am Sydne! I just moved to Chicago with my sister after graduating from the University of Arizona this past year! I am beginning work at Lurie Children’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse this fall! I have been a sitter/ nanny for the last 7 years and keep doing it because I love spending time with kids and helping them grow into kind & inquisitive individuals. I am excited to meet new families and kids in the Chicago area!
With over a decade of professional experience in child care; lifeguard, swim instructor, children's birthday entertainer, substitute teacher, and daycare worker/pre-k teacher, I have just about every child imaginable. I've also been babysitting since I was 12, for my parents, cousins, friends, and the occasional co-worker who needed a night off. I've seen all ages, 6m-17y. I like to think I connect with children so well because I truly am just a big kid at heart. But I also know when play time is over and to be firm, but fair. Since September of 2022, I have worked as a Preschool assistant for ages 5 and below, feeding the kids, playing with them, changing diapers, and helping with nap time. I have experience with setting up routine for kids, and I have dealt with a variety of behaviors in the classrooms I have been in. I would be happy to provide a message of recommendation from coworkers and supervisors. I also have had general baby sitting experience my whole life for ages 12 and under. I recently completed my Bachelors degree in a liberal arts major, and this past summer I took a child development course though City Colleges of Chicago. I also have been working through various Illinois Gateways online trainings regarding early childhood education. As for pets, I have owned nearly a total of 20 cats through my lifetime and have plenty of experience with caring for them. I also have had experience house sitting for my father and taking care of his two dogs. As for other animals, if I have instructions for care there is no limit to the animals I could care for. I love caretaking because it is so special to me to get to know someone so little and learn the best ways to connect with them and take care of them. Every child deserves care and attention, and I would like to help out parents so that they know their child is with someone who will be taking the best possible care of them.
