Greetings! I am First Aid and CPR Certified, and 37 years old. I have raised and trained two dogs, cared for seniors experiencing dementia and have 20 years experience caring for children of all ages. My strategy with kids (and seniors) is to slow down, answer all questions and give them options. As big sister to three boys, my entire childhood and young adulthood involved caring for kids. Once I left home, I became a certified post-partum doula, then went on to nanny full time. I became more curious about teaching kids, so became a theater teacher for kids ages 3-11 for 6 years. I am looking to build some caretaking relationships for children, pets and seniors.

Hi there, I'm Amy! I am a licensed educator and lover of the outdoors. I'm licensed to teach English Language Arts grades 5-12, but have spent the last school year subbing in classrooms ranging from Pre-K-12th grade. I've nannied and babysat for families in the past with kids of all ages and abilities. My duties as a nanny included transportation to and from school and appointments, snack and meal prep, light house cleaning, arts and crafts, fun outings, dog and cat care, homework help, and nighttime routines. Working in schools every day means learning all kinds of ways to get kids thinking and engaged in meaningful ways. I have lots of patience when it comes to skill-building and activities with kids, and enjoy designing activities, playing games, and getting outdoors. During college I worked for two years in a senior living community with seniors ranging in age (55-100+) and varying ability levels. My duties ranged from nutrition and meal monitoring to caretaking and quality time. I also have 5+ years experience house sitting. I've taken care of landscaping, cleaning, and mail/package pick-up as well as pet and plant care.

I am a certified educator and teach PreK-8th grade Writing with CPS during the academic year. I have a master's degree in education, and am happy to provide tutoring services while I babysit.

I am a second-year medical student at Loyola with a background in neuroscience and I am looking to help families, offering child and senior care. I have experience as a caregiver for my grandmother and for my autistic brother. I have also worked as a math tutor, so I am happy to help with tutoring or errands like driving to/from school and appointments. Ideally, I am hoping to house-sit and have time to study for my own school work alongside helping kids with their homework. I am allergic to animal dander, but I am a huge animal lover nevertheless! Other fun facts about me: I play the flute and piano, I used to play soccer and now rock climb, and I volunteer at the Field Museum!

With over a decade of professional experience in child care; lifeguard, swim instructor, children's birthday entertainer, substitute teacher, and daycare worker/pre-k teacher, I have just about every child imaginable. I've also been babysitting since I was 12, for my parents, cousins, friends, and the occasional co-worker who needed a night off. I've seen all ages, 6m-17y. I like to think I connect with children so well because I truly am just a big kid at heart. But I also know when play time is over and to be firm, but fair. I have training in basic first aid, CPR, basic diabetic care, certified in anaphylactic safety, certified in allergy safety, certified in food handling and safety.
