I have been a caregiver for all of my adult life. I am a physical therapist in a hospital for over 20 years. I work in the NICU, with infants and toddlers as outpatients, and with the inpatient geriatric population. Additionally, I am of mom of two. I have an 18 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. We also had an amazing dog named Henry for nearly 14 years, so I am comfortable with animals. I am good at adjusting to individual and family needs. I am looking to supplement my hospital job with something I enjoy and am comfortable doing.

I am the proud mom of two children (one 28, and one 9). My son is with me 50% of the time, and my daughter is off doing her own thing. I miss the times when they were infants/toddlers, and because of that, this seemed like a great solution to fulfill the desire to still spend time with little ones as well as fill the void when my son isn’t home. I love to do crafts, play outside, and go on adventures (this was my son’s term for when we took trips to the zoo, beach for a day, went on a hike, etc.) I am a veteran of the USAF where I served for 5 years as a Russian linguist. I am bilingual in Russian and English, and have enjoyed teaching my son and daughter’s friends the language over the years. I am extremely patient, and have worked with children that have behavioral issues, and can deal with separation anxiety when their parents leave while the child adjusts to me. Lastly, I am incredibly respectful of parent’s rules, routines and structure. I don’t have the attitude that just because I raised and am in the process of raising my children, that “my way” is best. It also helps that I had a “helpful” (read meddling) mother in law who liked to “impart” her wisdom and knowledge for me to apply to my parenting skills. I am a 64yo female who has been providing care for other people of all ages since 1975, as well as for pets of all sorts. I currently work full-time in the mental health field. I have college degrees in social work and mental health. Having had 17 years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities, I can provide experienced in-home respite so family caregivers of special needs adults can take a breather knowing their loved ones are cared for with dignity and respect. Having had many years of experience in the mental health field including crisis management, I can provide support and monitoring to vulnerable adults who have to remain at home while you are away. Having spent 5 years in childcare plus 11 years supervising children in recreational activity, I can provide care and supervision of children which keeps them safe and occuppied. My availability on weekends is all hours between 11:30 pm on Friday and 2:30 am on Monday.
