Hello!! I retired early after 38 years of teaching. I received Elementary Education as well special education degrees from Luther College in Decorah, IA. I later received my Early Child Special Education degree from Mankato State University and my Graduate Degree from St Mary's University. I am presently driving two hours to care for my 2 year old granddaughter in Hopkins, Mn. I typically watch her two weeks each month, and rotate with a couple others. My schedule varies. I typically do not watch her on Tuesdays or weekends. She truly has been a blessing in our lives. I currently work as a special education assistant in the Minneapolis school district and have been in this role for the past five years. I have experience working with children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with emotional and behavioral needs, from kindergarten through 6th grade. Before this, I worked as a teacher’s assistant in a daycare setting for over four years, caring for children from infants to school age. I truly enjoy working with kids and creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for them. In my free time, I love arts and crafts and spending time outdoors—activities I enjoy sharing with children to keep them engaged and happy!
