Hello! I’m Isabella and I am new to the city! I was born and raised in Venice Beach, CA. I moved to New York to be closer to my family who lives on the east coast and to have a new experience while I am in the early stages of my career! I studied Psychology at UC Santa Cruz where I focused on childhood and adolescent development. Throughout college I was a nanny and worked af a local preschool where I was able to conduct my senior research project on emotional regulation in I nannied throughout college and formed strong and lasting relationships with the families I worked with. Many families I worked with prioritized Montessori schooling methods, so I am familiar with that style of learning. My first year out of college, I worked as a Teacher’s Aide at a school for special needs children. I worked with children ages 7-14 who had varying IEP’s for things like autism, dyslexia, and ADHD, among others. I was trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) methods to de-escalate high-stress situations. I am a highly patient, playful, and responsible person, and I take pride in working with families and children. In the next couple of years, I would like to go back to school for a Master's in Marriage & Family Therapy, as I am interested in relationship dynamics and communication strategies. In my free time, I love to be active and outside! I’ve played volleyball my whole life, so I am eager to find a rec league in the city so I can play. I also love to travel and am lucky that my family prioritized this growing up, so I’ve been lucky to travel with them! My experience as a nanny has varied depending on each family’s needs, but I am familiar with school pickup/drop-off, snack and meal planning, homework help, bed/bath time, and planning daily activities. I have experience and am comfortable with overnights after getting to know the family and their children, as well as traveling as needed. Hello! I am a graduate student studying for my degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. I am looking for a part-time job outside of my career to help pay for my student loans. I have been familiar with childcare since I was 13 years old! I have been caring for my siblings after school, neighborhood kids, and also infants in my family. I know people don’t typically take familial gigs seriously, but these were paid. In these babysitting jobs, I’d be responsible for bathing, doing homework, entertaining, cooking, and putting the child to sleep. I’d also do cleanly duties around the house to keep it tidy for the parents to come home. I also do have experience in working in a children’s day camp. In the day camp, I was responsible for teaching the children, caring for their safety, taking them on field trips, and taking care of their dietary needs. I have immense attention to detail and adaptability, so if you need any services that I haven’t mentioned, please feel free to talk to me about it. I am fine with pets. I am just unfamiliar with precise care, so as long as directions are provided I’d be good to go. I do have an allergy to cats. However my severity depends on the breed and my proximity to the cat.
