I’m a 45 year old woman in the process of creating a family of my own. I’ve nannied for high profile families in New York and have been around children all my life. I started working as a mother's helper at the age of 10, and have been babysitting ever since! In high school I worked as a nanny 20 hours a week for a wonderful family with two infants, and also volunteered at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital to ensure children separated from their parents for long periods of time were receiving the critical attention needed to develop their gross and fine motor skills. During college I worked as an occasional sitter for many different families in the D.C. area. I have been living in New York for about 5 years now and work full-time as a Copywriter at a creative agency, so I just take a few babysitting jobs each month on nights and weekend :) For five summers when I was 18-23, I worked as a counselor at Camp Onaway, a sleep-away camp for girls ages 8-15 in New Hampshire. After graduating from the University of Maryland in December 2016, I worked at a Swiss boarding school as a dorm counselor, Spanish Instructor, and as a ski instructor. In short, I LOVE hanging out with kids both younger and older! I have ample experience with newborns, infants, and toddlers, and I love kids of all ages and needs. I have babysat for children with special needs and behavioral differences, and I am always happy to accommodate any communication/behavioral/educational methods that your family prefers (though I do not have any specific certifications or training for different needs). I speak Russian and Spanish and I am happy to help children learning either language by simply speaking to them or working on certain vocabulary. Hi! I am 21 years old and attend Oberlin College in Ohio where I'm studying psychology. I grew up in Brooklyn Heights and have lived here my whole life, so I am comfortable with public transportation, going to park, and other fun attractions for kids.When home on breaks, I live with my two parents, older brother, younger sister and dog. I have experience sitting for kids ages 1-9; this includes playing with them and getting them dinner together, bathing them and putting them in pjs, and reading books to put them to sleep. Sometimes I would bring my dog because one girl loved to play with him. I am allergic to dogs and cats, but I am able to work with families who have dogs that do not shed. In my free time I love to bake, paint, sew, play frisbee, and take my dog to the park. While my certification has lapsed, I have taken courses in CPR and first aid.

Currently a media professional, I’ve always loved caring for others. I grew up with the mindset that if you take care of your community, your community will take care of you. I worked at my family’s daycare center for 5 years while in high school and some throughout college. While in college a volunteered at an underserved after school program, where I established a library and secured grants to expand the program. Working with families and children, while helping them flourish has always been a passion.

I am a pre-med biology graduate from Morgan State University and a certified medical assistant. These studies have strengthened my understanding of health and safety, which is crucial to being a competent caregiver. As I continue my path of education, I hope to become a pediatrician who expresses my genuine compassion for caring for kids, not just physically but emotionally as well. As one of the oldest kids in my family, I have been accustomed to babysitting for quite some time. From babysitting my newborn nieces and nephews overnight to watching my cousins for almost a week. I also have experience in animal sitting for 2 years, whether that be dogs, cats, and even hamsters. Caregiving has been a pivotal part of my life since I was younger, growing up in my household. Having to assist my younger brother and sister with homework, cooking them dinner, and being a beacon of knowledge, care, and love for them. I love caregiving because I enjoy being a dependable person that people can count on. It gives me a sense of purpose because I know that I am playing an essential role in their life. Constantly showing up and being present, supporting their development, reminds me that even little, everyday actions such as these are the ones that make a difference and create a village for kids to be nurtured and grow healthily.
