While I discern my next career steps, I’m looking to spend some time doing something that energizes me— working with children and youth! I have served as a private babysitter for toddlers and young children, a student teacher for two first grade classrooms, and a summer camp counselor. Finally, as a family engagement specialist at a local childcare financial assistance resource and referral agency, I worked with parents and children to improve positive child development. I’m an art teacher with nearly 10 years of experience working with children of various ages. Over the years, I’ve worked as an after-school counselor, a camp counselor, and currently as a full-time teacher. These roles have given me a strong foundation in child development, classroom management, and creating engaging, structured environments where kids feel both supported and inspired. What makes me a great caregiver is my personality as much as my experience. I’m very personable, patient, and kind, and I naturally connect with children by being a bit silly and playful while still maintaining clear boundaries. I believe in building genuine relationships with kids—so they feel safe, heard, and comfortable being themselves—not just seeing me as an authority figure. I'm a current college senior studying Psychology with a focus on becoming an advocate for children. I have 3 years of experience as a babysitter and as a preschool teacher. I previously worked as a preschool teacher for children ages 2-4 1/2. I also created daily itineraries for our aftercare and summer program for kids ages 6 to 13 years old. I am First Aid + CPR certified. I frequently volunteer with my local elementary/middle school for a program that promotes reading amount young kids and fostering a love of books.
