Hello! I’m Shanda, and caring for children has been my passion for many years. I have 36 college units in Early Childhood Education and have had the privilege of working with children of all ages—from preschool through high school—including children with special needs. Throughout my career I’ve served as a preschool director, worked in elementary, middle, and high school settings, coordinated large Vacation Bible School programs, and organized monthly respite nights for families of children with special needs, giving parents a chance to rest while their children enjoyed a safe, fun, and welcoming environment.
Today I work for the local school district and also teach preschool part-time. While experience is important, I believe the heart behind the work matters just as much. I’ve always been drawn to children who need a little extra patience, encouragement, or someone who truly sees them. Whether a child is outgoing, shy, energetic, anxious, or simply having a difficult day, I strive to create a calm, nurturing environment where they feel safe, respected, and valued.
Families often describe me as patient, dependable, and kind. I enjoy reading stories, doing crafts, playing games, spending time outdoors, helping with homework, and encouraging children’s curiosity and confidence. My goal is for every child in my care to know they are important, capable, and cared for.
I would love the opportunity to get to know your family and provide dependable, compassionate care for your children.
“Some of the most meaningful relationships I’ve built have been with children others found challenging, because I believe every child deserves to be understood before they are judged.”
