Hi, I’m Maria! I’m an NYC-based childcare provider with 10+ years of experience caring for children of different ages across the city. I’m reliable, attentive, and experienced with after-school routines, homework help, dinner, bedtime, and evening care. I’m currently available for recurring, part-time, and occasional care. Availability: • Open availability Sunday–Wednesday • Thursdays before 4 PM • After-school care Monday–Thursday, depending on schedule • Date nights & evening care throughout the week • Friday & Saturday evenings with advance notice I’m happy to discuss recurring schedules as well as occasional care based on your family’s needs. I prioritize safety, clear communication, and consistency while creating a comfortable environment where children feel cared for and parents can feel at ease. Whether you’re looking for consistent weekly support, after-school care, or a trusted sitter for a night out, I’d love to connect! 🌿

Maria is an amazing babysitter! She was our morning babysitter for the 2024-2025 school year. She was responsible for helping our then 4/5-year old get ready for school. After putting our little one on his school bus, she would then took our 8/9-year old to school. Maria was always punctual, calm, and adaptable. Mornings can be hectic, yet she was able to step in and provide support where needed. Currently, Maria works as an occasional sitter for us. Her punctuality, easygoing nature, and adaptability continue to serve her in that role. My boys love her and get along with her well. She’s very responsible and knows when to communicate important information to parents. We recommend Maria hands down.

Hello! My name is Shelley - I’m an experienced sitter/nanny and communications professional with a master’s in creative writing from Oxford. In my free time, I am a singer, performer, and avid fan of classic film. I've been involved in childcare from a very young age, including as a daytime nanny when I was working as an actress full-time, and an evening and weekends babysitter throughout college and beyond. I have experience with all ages, from infants to teens, and I have frequently worked with multiple children. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Shelley was great and my 2-year-old son took to her right away! Would definitely hire her again and would recommend!

I'm a master's graduate with more than 15 years of childcare experience (including my extensive time caring for my teenage brother and sister since they were infants!). Originally from Phoenix, I've also lived and babysat in Los Angeles, and would love to share my experience with your family here in New York! I'm also happy to assist with household chores, cooking, animal care, and other services along with babysitting.

Kathryn was excellent with our infant son and super communicative with us! Will absolutely hire again!

I grew up in a large Haitian family so I've been babysitting for as long as I can remember. When my studies brought me to Hamilton College, I continued to babysit for professors and administrators alike. There I pursued an interdisciplinary major in Genetics & Social Justice with a focus on reproductive health. As part of my major, I got the opportunity to study maternal and child health in the U.S., Vietnam, South Africa, and Argentina. Living and learning in such different environments exposed me to children of all ages and backgrounds and taught me that in the absence of a shared spoken language, games are a universal language that can create a genuine connection with children all over the world. For the past 8 years, I've worked as a private tutor with elementary school-aged children and provided academic support in a variety of subjects. In addition to this, I provide semi-regular and occasional childcare services. If you'd like to book me, send me a message and I'll respond as soon as possible. Policies 1. I require a minimum of 48 hours notice if you’d like to cancel or reschedule a booking. Otherwise, I expect 50% of the payment for the booking. 2. I request a car service home for bookings ending after 8 pm. 3. I am willing to care for sick children as long as they’re not contagious, but please notify me in advance so I can plan accordingly. 4. I expect payment for the full booking even if you return home early. 5. My booking minimum is 3 hours. 6. My pricing for babysitting and private tutoring are distinct. Feel free to inquire, however, if you're interested in my pricing for tutoring services. Best wishes, Joany
