I am the oldest in my family and took care of my younger brothers, as well as younger cousins, growing up. From age 13 through high school, I babysat for a local family who had six kids all between the ages of 7 and newborn. I taught dance through high school and my first two years of college. In the summer of 2022, I worked with kids in Ukraine+Poland, primarily teaching or working with mothers and babies. I've been working with runaway homeless youth at places such as The Door and The Ali Forney Center for the past several years. Working with kids has always brought me joy and kept me grounded during hectic times. I nannied during undergrad and, while I have experience with children of all age ranges, I have primarily worked with infants and babies during their first year of life. I have experience with night-nannying, sleep training, feeding, and multiples. For those of you with older kids, bedtime routine is no problem either as I have had many longer term after-school gigs as well. I am confident in navigating the city responsibly, including school pick-up, and use of public transit. As a nanny, I'd describe myself as relaxed, punctual, reliable, flexible, confident, reasonable, communicative, consistent and dedicated. I very much enjoy working with families of different backgrounds, and I am absolutely LGBTQ+ family-friendly, being part of one myself. Hi, my name is Mashiyat and I have been working with kids since I was 16 and have always enjoyed it. I worked my summers in high school at a science and engineering camp where I was a counselor for ages 5-7. I became early education and care certified in college when I was a teaching assistant for the on campus daycare primarily as an infant/toddler daycare teacher. In addition to providing direct care for the babies in my classroom, I also have experience working with infants as a medical assistant for a pediatrician’s office and worked directly with families at a children’s hospital to enroll them into clinical trials.
