My skills has sharpened as the years went by, and it has taught me a lot about myself. I love caring for kids because it affords me the opportunity to help contribute towards our next generation, as the first three years of a child’s life is the most crucial phase developmentally.

I am a lifelong babysitter, starting as a mother’s helper at 8 years old for a neighbor and their infant. I babysat throughout high school for an infant until I moved to NYC when she was 8 years old. In college, I worked at a daycare with children aged 12 weeks to 5 years old. When I first moved to NYC I was a nanny for 3 different families with children ranging in age from 8 months to 2 years old. I am currently a 5th grade math teacher and have been a teacher to elementary and middle school aged children for 14 years. I love playing games, reading and going for walks or to the playground. Hello! I’m Isabella and I am new to the city! I was born and raised in Venice Beach, CA. I moved to New York to be closer to my family who live on the east coast and to live with my best friend who will be attending graduate school at Columbia! I studied Psychology at UC Santa Cruz where I focused on childhood and adolescent development. Throughout college I was a nanny and worked at a local preschool where I was able to conduct my senior research project on emotional regulation in preschool aged children. I formed strong and lasting relationships with the families I worked with and stay in contact to this day. Many families I worked with prioritized Montessori schooling methods, so I am familiar with that style of learning. My first year out of college, I worked as a Teacher’s Aide at a school for special needs children. I worked with children ages 7-14 who had varying IEP’s for things like autism, dyslexia, and ADHD, among others. I was trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) methods to de-escalate high-stress situations. I am a highly patient, playful, and responsible person, and I take pride in working with families and children. In the next couple of years, I would like to go back to school for a Master's in Marriage & Family Therapy, as I am interested in relationship dynamics and communication strategies. In my free time, I love to be active and outside! I’ve played volleyball my whole life, so I am eager to find a rec league in the city so I can play. I also love to travel and am lucky that my family prioritized this growing up, so I’ve been lucky to travel with them! My experience as a nanny has varied depending on each family’s needs, but I am familiar with school pickup/drop-off, snack and meal planning, homework help, bed/bath time, and planning daily activities. I have experience and am comfortable with overnights after getting to know the family and their children, as well as traveling as needed. I'm a 37 year old mostly WFH advertising writer who loves dogs, cats, kids and has plenty of time to hang out with yours! I've pet sat since I was a kid and have always enjoyed helping out owners while getting quality time with a variety of fun pets. I live in Cobble Hill and am very close to several parks and paths where I love to walk.
