Hi! My name is Maddy and I’m a recent graduate from the Ohio State University. I just earned my bachelors in Special Education and I begin teaching in the fall. I love kids, I’m the oldest of 9 and I’m great with pets too! I have 2 huskies of my own and I’m recently married. I’m so excited for a summer of great opportunities!

I have a strong background in healthcare and caregiving, supported by both hands-on experience and academic training. I recently graduated from nursing school and am a Registered Nurse. I will begin working as an emergency department nurse at The Ohio State University in April and completed my capstone preceptorship in the emergency department, where I cared for patients across the lifespan in high-stress, fast-paced situations. I hold certifications in BLS, Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), all of which support my ability to provide safe, responsive, and compassionate care. In addition to my clinical work, I have experience working with children through my time at Jumpstart, where I supported early childhood education and development in underserved communities. I have also working with adolescents in a psychiatric setting and provided mentorship to adolescents through my work at Brown University’s precollege program. I have past experience working with young children in volunteer settings during high school and college. I’ve also worked with seniors and individuals with mental health needs in long-term care and inpatient psychiatric settings. I’m comfortable supporting people with complex health conditions, behavioral challenges, and developmental needs. I additionally have experience providing household assistance and caring for pets. I’m dependable, patient, and calm under pressure, with strong communication skills and a deep sense of empathy. My background in Medical Anthropology adds to my holistic, culturally sensitive approach to caregiving. I genuinely enjoy building trust with the individuals and families I care for, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and supported.

Since the age of 12, I have naturally embraced the role of a caregiver. As a mother of six children, whose ages range from 7 to 16, I have firsthand experience in nurturing and guiding young minds. My involvement extends beyond my family; I volunteer in children's church services, where I care for infants and toddlers, ensuring they are engaged and structured during their time there. Professionally, I work as a juvenile corrections officer for the state of Ohio, interacting daily with youth from all over the state. This role has deepened my passion for helping young people navigate their challenges, and I find fulfillment in making a positive impact in their lives. I believe my experiences allow me to offer valuable support to children and families, and I would love to bring that dedication to your household. Additionally, I have a profound appreciation for the elder generation. Raised by my maternal grandmother, I cherish the lessons and wisdom she imparted. In her later years, I had the honor of being there for her, planning her final wishes and ensuring her comfort. This experience has reinforced my understanding of the value of companionship and care for our elders. I am an older sister of 2 sisters and 5 brothers. I have taken care of them my whole life and am very good with kids. I volunteered at a daycare/ summer camp taking care of infants in the mornings and school age children in the afternoon once school let out. I graduated OSU 2 years ago and would love to help with homework. If you need someone to drop off or pickup I would be available since my full time job is work from home and flexible. I am also available to baby-sit overnight if really needed on weekdays and for sure on weekends. I do live with a partner and am willing to have them meet with parents as well. They are also a current OSU student in grad school for architecture.
