Hello all! My name is Krysta and I'm on the look out for a new family! I've been in childcare for almost 9 years and a private nanny for almost 7 years. I do have a 2.5 year old boy (06/03/2021) who has come along with me since he was 8 weeks old. Before I was a nanny I was a lead at a popular Portland based in-home daycare where I oversaw the care of 16 infants and 3 other workers. Our ratio was 4:1. I have experience with multiples and my last nanny share job was with 4 kiddos- a set of twins, a singleton and my own son, Theo. I love creating long term bonds with children along with their families as I see myself as an extension of them. Some of my skills are as follows: • CPR and first aid trained and in the ORO database, clean driving record with a safe and reliable car. • Supporting children in play activities, meals and snacks, hygiene and socialization. • Assisting with light housekeeping duties as well as running errands. I have also volunteered as a camp leader, supervising a group of five children, organizing engaging activities, and managing daily schedules from morning wake-ups to bedtime. I am currently pursuing design from a different approach and working part-time in caregiving and babysitting. I am great with kids and am educated and savvy about ADHD, Neurodiveristy and complex-trauma. I am particularly good with Neurodivergent, ADHD or creative kids. I am a curious person in general and love helping kids learn about their interests and in particular love to support or mentor around art, crafts, design, etc. I am also interested in working with seniors and enjoy chit chatting, helping with compassion and thoughtfulness and am able to be thorough and conscientious around routines and medication. Hi! After successfully completing my time in the Navy, I'm currently working as a Field Service Engineer at a tech company but want to save more money for college and law school. Growing up, I took care of my sister off and on while my parents were out. When I turned 15, I started working as a lifeguard at my hometown's water park. And when I was 19, I worked for 6 months as a lifeguard at Disney World's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Contemporary Resort. I have spent most of my life taking care of kids and keeping them entertained but safe. I really enjoyed that work and hope I can achieve that again for you and your child.
