Hi! I go by Nyxie (they/them/fae). I bring over 15 years of experience caring for children from infancy through the teen years, including roles as a nanny, babysitter, ESL teacher, special needs tutor, and current preschool program assessor. I am CPR and First Aid certified, bilingual in English and Spanish, and conversational in French and Mandarin Chinese. My approach to caregiving is child-led, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and play-based. I enjoy creating engaging, developmentally supportive experiences through outdoor play, art, reading, healthy cooking, and mindfulness activities. I strive to foster independence, emotional regulation, and a strong sense of safety and belonging in every child I work with. For work-from-home families, I value clear communication and collaboration. I do my best work when trusted to take the lead during scheduled hours, as consistency helps children feel secure and reduces confusion. My goal is always to create a warm, joyful, and supportive environment where your child can thrive.

Was very friendly and kind to the children. Fed them, played and colored with them, and took them to the park. Very kind and sweet, I would definitely recommend them and will be booking them in the future!

Greetings lovely family, My name is Amber-Avenira, most people call me Avi :) With over a decade as a live-in & live-out nanny, including many years with a private nanny agency, I have enjoyed learning about a variety of lifestyles and parenting approaches including Montessori, RIE, positive reinforcement and more. With my bag of toys, gentle smile and warm sense of humor I am comfortable and confident in connecting with kids of all ages. And happy to support your family with anything you need. I work part time as a music teacher at a local music school, which keeps my schedule fairly open to continue supporting families as I've enjoyed doing most of my life. My beliefs strongly center around the "It Takes a Village" mindset, and I feel this is more important nowadays than ever before. We aren't meant to raise our families alone, it can really make a difference connecting with another person every now and then. So it is a great honor to be included in your village, even for a day. And my pleasure to be of service to you and your little one(s). I've included a few reviews from families I have worked with in the past. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all. I look forward to speaking with you soon! -Avi Heather You are very calm and give my children great attention. You play creatively with them and engage them in activities they're really interested in. . . Of course we want our children to be safe, have fun and be nurtured for who they are. You've been a great fit for that! Emily You treat children with respect and take them seriously, but also have fun with them. You pay attention to them and see them as individuals. Heather + Adam What most stands out is the engagement you had with the various developmental stages and creative needs of our children. We never returned to fussy children...they were always so content. Elisa My kids love you! You’re enthusiastic, kind, fun and you’re reliable. I also appreciate your punctuality. You receive requests and notes in a wonderful way. Kaitlyn You are so engaged and always come ready to play and meet her wherever she is at- happy, sad- you hold space for all of it and I am grateful :)

New to Portland, OR, I moved here with my husband and two cats from Nashville, TN so I could study naturopathic medicine at NUNM. Before starting medical school, I worked as a professional nanny and part-time babysitter for 4 years after graduating from Vanderbilt University with my bachelors. I’ve cared for children of all ages from infant to pre-teen and we always find a way to have fun and learn new to things! My responsibilities have included meal prep, drop off and pick up from school or camp, morning and nighttime routines, and general tidying of the house. I would describe myself as punctual, professional, and flexible under pressure. I have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. I have also house sat and dog watched for a family I had nannied for, where my duties included checking food and water, administering medicine, and taking her for walks. With my variable school schedule, I’m looking for one-time or part-time childcare or pet-care positions. I hope you find me to be a good fit!

I am a mother of 3. my daughter is 18 and my son is 6 and my other daughter is 2. my parents did foster care when I was younger, so I was exposed to all sorts of people and kids. I babysat for years, worked at a daycare and helped with many kids programs in my area and community. I love to be silly and creative.

Hello all! My name is Krysta and I'm on the look out for a new family! I've been in childcare for almost 9 years and a private nanny for almost 7 years. I do have a 2.5 year old boy (06/03/2021) who has come along with me since he was 8 weeks old. Before I was a nanny I was a lead at a popular Portland based in-home daycare where I oversaw the care of 16 infants and 3 other workers. Our ratio was 4:1. I have experience with multiples and my last nanny share job was with 4 kiddos- a set of twins, a singleton and my own son, Theo. I love creating long term bonds with children along with their families as I see myself as an extension of them. Some of my skills are as follows: • CPR and first aid trained and in the ORO database, clean driving record with a safe and reliable car. • Supporting children in play activities, meals and snacks, hygiene and socialization. • Assisting with light housekeeping duties as well as running errands. Organization and cleaning up the home after activities by picking up toys and straightening up play rooms. • Building positive and nurturing environments to support child's social and emotional growth. • Preparing tasty and healthy meals for children to encourage good eating habits. • Engaging with children on an age-appropriate level. Balancing playtime to help support development of fine motor, and cognitive skills Getting outside, puddle jumping, singing silly songs, dancing crazy dances, block building, imagination play, arts and crafts are some of my favorite things
