I moved to Austin in 2019 from the Northeast. Prior to my relocation, I was a teacher (two/three year olds) at a Private Preschool in New Jersey for more than 13 years. I am a certified infant/toddler teacher and have also taught English as a Second Language in a public elementary school system. Additionally, I have worked for many years as a reading/writing tutor and a teacher of theatre arts to elementary and middle school students. I have numerous years of experience working with children, ages newborn to late teens. In addition, I have raised three children (two grown, one teenaged). I am well versed in developmental milestones and my specific area of expertise is working with children who have different learning capabilities, notably children on the spectrum and/or with developmental delays. I continue to work in Austin as a preschool teacher and tutor for elementary school children. In addition, I run neurodiversity consulting programs and staff development sessions for local private schools. Because of my career in teaching, I am required to renew my certification in CPR and First Aid every two years and I annually accrue 40 plus hours of developmental/industry standards training. My name is Lauren and I am from Dallas, Texas! I am an educational audiologist working for the region of Austin. I recently moved from San Francisco to Austin and have had tons of child care experience, as I entered college (2011) seeking a degree in early child care... but decided I wanted to study something a little more challenging for me and that's how I ended up studying audiology. I've worked at summer camps with specialities in autism, gymnastics summer camps/nights out, taken a variety of early childhood education courses, and worked in the NICU/well born nursery doing hearing screenings for three years.
