Caring for others has been a natural part of my life for as long as I can remember. As the oldest of three siblings, I learned early on how to nurture, support, and create a sense of safety for them. That instinct only deepened as I raised my two daughters, help care for my three grandsons, and spend over eight years working in a childcare environment. Several families have personally entrusted me with their child outside the childcare environment. I am currently a preschool teacher, and I truly enjoy going to work each day. Supporting children as they learn, grow, and express themselves is something I genuinely love. I have also had the privilege of caring for my mother during her journey with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Hello, my name is Cinthia! I am currently a Ph.D. student in School Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. I have a Masters degree in School Psychology from UT and a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with minors in Education Studies and Applied Developmental Psychology from UCLA. I worked at a childcare center at UCLA with infants and toddlers for 3 years. I currently work at a community mental health clinic providing therapy to children, teens, and families. I also provide services as several elementary schools and community organizations around Austin. I love interacting, working and learning from children of all ages. I operate on the philosophy that children are all active agents of their own learning and a caregivers' role is to foster, scaffold, and facilitate their experiences, especially through play and fun activities.
