About Me
Hi! My name is Maria, and I’m a former Firefighter/EMT and U.S. Marine veteran offering dependable childcare, newborn care, pet care, and household support.
I have experience caring for newborns, infants, toddlers, and children. Before joining the military, I worked as a nanny for a family in Westlake, Austin from 2[removed], caring for their four children and helping with their daily routines and needs.
I also grew up helping my mom, who worked as a housekeeper, care for a child from about 1 year old through age 8. Along with childcare, I helped with laundry, making beds, cleaning, and keeping the home organized.
More recently, I helped my cousin and her husband during the first three weeks of their newborn’s life. I was there to support them with their baby during those early weeks, and I continue to occasionally babysit for their family. This has given me current hands-on experience with newborn care.
I’m also comfortable helping with household tasks such as laundry, changing linens, making beds, cleaning, organizing, bathing children, and preparing simple meals. I currently provide pet-sitting services through Wag and Rover, so I’m comfortable caring for pets and helping families with their furry members too.
My experience as a Firefighter/EMT has taught me to be responsible, observant, calm under pressure, and prepared for the unexpected. I take safety seriously and understand how important it is for parents to have someone they can trust with their children and home.
Most importantly, I want to help take some of the load off parents’ shoulders. Whether that means watching the kids, helping around the house, caring for pets, or simply giving parents a little time to breathe, relax, and take care of themselves, I’m happy to help make life a little easier.
