Hi families! My name is Clariss! I graduated from UC Davis in 2024 and have taken numerous courses focused on child development. I am currently taking a gap year while applying to Speech-Language Pathology programs, and I’m looking to connect with families who need part-time childcare or occasional babysitting. Also, I am based in Sacramento and the Bay Area! I’m passionate about working with infants and young children, and my long-term goal is to become a pediatric speech-language pathologist. I am an older sister so growing up I would act as the second mom and be very protective over my little sister. In general growing up I was always one of the oldest kids with family friends and just family in general. I was raised surrounded by kids and that is really where I grew the love for them and especially the patience for them. I am such a happy fun, loving and loud person to where I keep the kids entertained or if they get bored I just make up random games on the spot and have some fun. In my first 3 years of high school I coached one of the local youth cheer teams. I worked with ages 4-12 in this role. This past summer before I moved here for school and now I am a seasonal worker I am an employee at Carmel Valley Ranch. I work at the kids camp there. It basically is a everyday day care center where it is a play room where we do crafts, read books, play games, and take the kids outside to enjoy the fresh air. With this and young kids having fun we do clean up the room a good amount of times during the day. With being surrounded by kids through out my whole life I am not studying to go into education for the ages 1st-3rd.

I’m a responsible, dependable, and caring person who enjoys working with kids and helping families when they need an extra hand. I recently started babysitting more regularly and have experience caring for young and school-aged children. I’m comfortable keeping kids entertained, preparing simple meals and snacks, helping with routines, and making sure they’re safe and well cared for while their parents are away. I’m patient, attentive, and easygoing, but I also understand the importance of following the routines and expectations parents have for their children. I’m happy to help with light cleanup related to the kids and I’m also comfortable around pets. I have a dog of my own, so pets in the home are never an issue for me. I work full-time during the week, so I’m primarily looking to help families with occasional babysitting, evenings, weekends, date nights, or other times when an extra set of hands is needed. I am an HR Professional with a bachelor’s degree in Business yet part of me wishes I had an educational background to work with children. So babysitting gives me the opportunity to do what I enjoy the most! I was an urbansitter nanny all throughout college in San Francisco as my one and only job for 5 years. I cared for children of all ages, from 3 months - 14 years old. My long term families were for children ages 1-5 and 11-14. In addition to my own work experience, I grew up at home with a family childcare, thus I am comfortable being around up to 8 children at once since my mother is a licensed childcare provider. I currently babysit a 4 year old once a week (Jan 2024 - today) My favorite part about babysitting is teaching children through play. It’s rewarding to see a child grow and see how much they learn along the way. I have a tight schedule but if I am available to babysit on weekends and weekday evenings. I have a car and I am also fluent in Spanish.
