Hello! I’m Berkeley I have been working as a nanny, full and part time for 20 yrs. 15 of those years in San Francisco. I’ve truly enjoyed working with so many wonderful families and their cool kids over the years! Currently looking for a variety of work opportunities with new families. In addition to childcare, I’m also available for pet care and house sitting, and household services. Particularly good at keeping homes tidy, organizing, and helping in the kitchen. Experience with premature babies through 12 years old. The last 10 years almost exclusively with multiple children, siblings and twins. Mostly newborns and toddlers. The majority of jobs I’ve had started in infancy and transitioned into toddler years. My childcare style is patient, kind, calm. I have a solid understanding of developmental stages, age appropriate activities, and assistance in reaching learning milestones. Strong emphasis on communication and safety! I’m accustomed to the responsibilities of outings and activities, playdates, getting kids to the park is a favorite. I especially like being helpful in the kitchen with cooking and food prep. It's a joy to be around kids and learn what makes them comfortable, excited and happy. Valid driver's license but get around by bicycle. I don't own a car. Infant- and child CPR certified and take an interest in child psychology. Having grown up in Holland I speak fluent Dutch and conversational German with many errors haha.

I grew up with 3 sisters and 2 brothers and we had dogs and cats. I played sports and first babysat at the age of 13. I love the beach and body surfing, I love to sing to the little ones and teach them songs, I like to have fun reading books, eating food, playing with just about anything (just a glass of ice water is entertainment for 30 minutes with a 15 month old-- yes, ice.. first it's solid and then magic-it disappears). I love to problem solve... or use the tool of distraction. And I do believe that "to every task that must be done there is an element of fun". I work part-time at the Ferry Building Book Passage and have been there for two and a half years, it's a great environment and I enjoy working with the public. There a lot of kids who come in on the weekends and I have fun getting to know them and what they like to read. I have been taking care of a year and a half boy for spurts this past year and it's been so much fun. We would go to the Main Library storytime for an outting and it was a real treasure. It is such a pleasure to work with kids, as they are so much in to the moment.
