Hi! I’m a developmental therapist with a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth, confidence, and emotional well-being. I currently work with children ages 3–10 while pursuing my Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development, with a concentration in Youth Work and Out-of-School Time. I’ve spent over six years working with children in a variety of settings, including schools, preschools, camps, and families’ homes. I’ve worked in special education with LAUSD, taught preschool in both San Francisco and Portland, and spent four years as a camp counselor with Camp Galileo. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with children of different ages, personalities, and needs, and have taught me how important it is to meet each child where they are. I also have several years of nannying experience and have worked with around seven different families. I’ve helped with everything from weekly childcare and school pickups to overnight trips, meal preparation, bedtime routines, arts and crafts, homework, and keeping children engaged throughout the day. I really enjoy creating a balance between structure and fun—whether that means getting creative with an activity, heading outside to play, helping with homework, or simply being a caring and dependable presence for a child. Outside of my professional work, I’ve always been passionate about giving back to children and families. I’ve volunteered with organizations such as Safe & Sound, where I provided peer counseling and support, and Reading Partners, where I tutored elementary school children who were working to improve their reading skills. Hello, my name is Autumn and I've recently returned to my hometown of Los Angeles. I'm very excited to reconnect with my roots and plant myself into a new life here. Since I was a valley girl, I've been caring for others. Whether it was my younger siblings (I come from a family of 7 kids) or the sweet family of 6 down the street, I started babysitting at the responsible age of 11! Years later I chose to be an au-pair in Germany to an infant and her 3 year old sister Luisa who filled my days with curiosity and wonder. Not long after returning to the states, I lived with a professional family of Berkeley, nannying for their 2 daughters aged 7 and 9. With both families I tutored, cooked, played games, crafted, offered transportation, advised, championed, provided recreational activities and sang lullabies. In-between these lines of work, I was also once a clown and balloon maker. I have assisted elders with tender care, errands, out of state relocation and aquatic exercise! I am an extremely clean and organized person, a self-taught home chef, attended neurodivergent training and believe that human connection should always come first. I drive an all electric vehicle and have a clean driving history. I am the sole caretaker of 2 sweet cats but have also looked after friend's dogs in the past. As a child I had a pet mouse, snake, parakeet and hamster so I'm comfortable with all types! I pay close attention to detail, am excellent at anticipating needs and am a certified masseuse. I have much to offer individuals and families of all sizes. Being a caregiver is so much more than customer service as it requires sincere intuition and heart. One has to navigate personal needs while also being present of mind to consider safety, technicalities and timelines. I'm also experienced in home renovations should any minor repairs be required.
