My name is Savannah, and I am a Child Development student at California State University Long Beach, with a passion for special education and supporting neurodivergent children in their development. I previous worked as a part-time nanny for a two child household, with a 10m infant and a 3 year old child. I worked with them until the oldest was 5 years old, and I handled bedtime routines, bath time, meal preparation and feedings, bottle sterilization, diaper changes, and play-based learning to support developmental goals. I also work as a behavioral technician, where I work with neurodivergent children ranging for 3 years old to 16 years old. I use hands-off behavioral intervention techniques to build emotional regulation skills and work to replace adverse behaviors (hitting, spitting, self-injury, tantrums) with healthy coping strategies. I enjoy working with children of all ages and abilities, with a focus on supporting developmental goals through play-based learning. As a single mom, I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to manage work, family, household, responsibilities, and everything in between especially when you don’t have that extra set of hands when you need it most. My children are older now and I’m at a point in life where I’d love to use the time and experience I’ve gained as a mom to help other families.
