Hi! I’m Sloan and I’m from NC but I currently live here in Miami for college! I absolutely adore kids and I have worked with them for many years! I’ve babysat kids in my neighborhood of all ages and in high school, I took classes where I had the opportunity to learn all about children and their development and needs through the Early Childhood Education class which also allowed me to work everyday with the kids in the preschool that was attached to my high school! I also took a Teacher Cadet class where I picked to work with Kindergarteners where I had to make lesson plans and teach the class! I spent every morning with them for 9 weeks and would spend any of my extra days working with them as well!

Throughout middle and high school, I spent a lot of time volunteering to take care of kids, whether it was helping out at summer camps, after-school programs, or babysitting for family friends. I also work at a daycare. Those experiences sparked my passion for working with children and taught me how rewarding it can be to be a positive part of their lives. I’ve always made it a priority to create a safe, welcoming environment where kids feel comfortable and cared for, while also making sure they’re having fun—whether that means turning everyday tasks into games, coming up with creative activities, or just being someone they can laugh and talk with.
