Hi – My name is Karen, and I’m currently on a gap year from the University of Michigan. I’m using this time to work and save up before returning to finish my degree. I love working with kids and making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. I’ve helped my aunt with her nanny job and also worked at a home daycare, caring for children of different ages. I’ve also cared for my nieces, so I’m used to keeping things fun, patient, and organized. I can cook, help with light cleaning, and assist with household tasks. I don’t drive, but I’m reliable, always on time, and prefer families nearby or accessible by public transit. I’m also comfortable working with dogs and enjoy creating a warm, positive environment for families.
Only able to work with families who are potentially open to me bringing my daughter, who was born on March 20, 2026, with me. Hello Families! My name is Kasia and I am a fun, loving, caring, responsible, and reliable professional educator. While working with children I like to create a warm, safe, and welcoming environment in which the children are able to express themselves freely. I allow them to choose activities and build on their interests in order to challenge them; while also keeping activities age and developmentally appropriate. I strive to support the development of each individual child, and build a partnership with parents to support their wants, needs, and values. I look forward to meeting your family and creating a long lasting relationship with your children! EDUCATION: Master of Arts in Reading Education - Concordia University, River Forest IL, 2024 Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education with ESL/Bilingual Endorsement - Dominican University, River Forest IL, 2019 I have certificates in Infant/Toddler Care as well as Early Childhood Education. I have taken both Infant/Child CPR classes as well as a First Aid Certification Class, and feel very confident performing CPR if needed. I have also been trained in SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and SBS (Shaken Baby Syndrome) among many other child-care related trainings. EXPERIENCE: Currently expecting our little one in March 2026. I have taught kindergarten for 7 years and preschool for 1. I have worked in an early childhood education center (NAYCE accredited) as a support teacher for all ages, as well as a primary teacher in the 2 year old classroom. I have experience with allergies and epic-pens, as I have had multiple children with different common allergies. Infants (under 1 year old): I have experience with feeding breastmilk and formula bottles, introducing and feeding solids, changing cloth and disposable diapers, developing milestone skills such as: sitting up, crawling, walking, sleep training, developing fine and gross motor skills, stranger anxiety, sign language, etc. Toddlers (1-3 years old): Potty training, stranger anxiety, broadening their diets, communication skills, enhancing fine and gross motor skills, encouraging independence, teaching self help skills, etc. School age (4+ years old): Encouraging independence, tutoring in all subjects, teaching self-help skills, planing and implementing lessons focused on common core standards for grades k-6, etc.
Hi! My name is Jennifer. I’m 35 years old and have been a trusted nanny and sitter for nearly 20 years. Caring for children has always been something I truly enjoy, and I feel very grateful that I’ve been able to work with so many wonderful families over the years. I have worked long-term with three families in Chicago up until the end of last year, each with two boys ranging from infancy to 13 years old. During that time, I supported daily routines including morning and evening care, meal preparation, and school drop-offs. I’ve guided children through developmental milestones, fostered independence, and helped manage sibling dynamics with patience and consistency. These experiences have given me the versatility and skill to adapt to the unique needs of each child and family. I recently transitioned out of working FT in Chicago and am now spending more time in central Illinois to be closer to family. While I’m here, I’m also beginning a transition into learning sales and business. My approach to childcare is rooted in patience, respect, and open communication. I believe children thrive in environments where their emotions are acknowledged, their independence is encouraged, and they feel safe expressing themselves. I tend to align with Montessori-inspired ideas and believe discipline should always be thoughtful, respectful, and focused on helping children understand their feelings and actions. Outside of childcare, I love reading, studying health and wellness, spending time outdoors, and enjoying nature whenever I can. I’m also currently learning to play the piano, which has been a fun new challenge. I’m a big animal lover as well and have a tortoiseshell cat of my own, so pets are always a bonus in the home. There is no greater compliment to me than being someone a parent feels they can truly trust with their children. I care deeply about creating a calm, supportive environment where kids feel safe, respected, and cared for.

“Maura was amazing today with our 10 month old baby! He is going through stranger anxiety, separation anxiety, teething, AND wasn't feeling the best today, and despite all of that, he really enjoyed spending time with Maura and felt comfortable almost immediately. That almost never happens! Maura was so sweet with him, kept him engaged and happy, and even loaded/unloaded our dishwasher & straightened up during his nap and before leaving for the day. He had a really fun day! We are very excited to have Maura back as our regular part-time nanny and sitter!”
