Hi- My name is Olu, and i’m currently a freshman in college and work as an assistant teacher at a daycare in Madison, where I’ve been for about a year. In my role, I supervise playtime, lead simple learning activities, help with meals and naps, and make sure the children are in a safe, supportive environment throughout the day. I’ve been working with kids since I was about 13 and have experience with children of different ages, though I have the most experience with kids between the ages of 1 and 6. Working with younger children has helped me develop a lot of patience and attentiveness, and I’m very comfortable helping manage routines while still making sure kids are having fun. I’m CPR certified and always prioritize safety and communication with families. I enjoy doing different activities with kids such as reading, crafts, games, and outdoor play, and I usually adapt to what the children are interested in so they feel comfortable and engaged. In addition to supervising and playing with the kids, I’m also happy to help with basic caregiving tasks like preparing simple meals and helping with bath time when needed.
