Hi moms and dads! My name is Aliana and I have over six years of experience caring for kids from newborns to age 14, and I genuinely love what I do! I’m looking for a part time job during the school year, and full time or part time job from late June to mid August. I’m a 22 year old college student going for nursing and am First Aid and CPR Certified. I also am up to date with all of my vaccinations, including COVID-19. I hold my NY State Driver’s license, but do not have a car. I’m warm, reliable, and easygoing, and I enjoy building real connections with both kids and parents. I have a creative and adventurous side! I love planning fun activities, getting outside, and keeping kids engaged with games, crafts, and little adventures around our beautiful city. At the same time, I’m responsible, organized, and always focused on creating a safe and happy environment where kids can be themselves.

I started working as a mother's helper at the age of 10, and have been babysitting ever since! In high school I worked as a nanny 20 hours a week for a wonderful family with two infants, and also volunteered at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital to ensure children separated from their parents for long periods of time were receiving the critical attention needed to develop their gross and fine motor skills. During college I worked as an occasional sitter for many different families in the D.C. area. I have been living in New York for about 5 years now and work full-time as a Copywriter at a creative agency, so I just take a few babysitting jobs each month on nights and weekend :) For five summers when I was 18-23, I worked as a counselor at Camp Onaway, a sleep-away camp for girls ages 8-15 in New Hampshire. After graduating from the University of Maryland in December 2016, I worked at a Swiss boarding school as a dorm counselor, Spanish Instructor, and as a ski instructor. In short, I LOVE hanging out with kids both younger and older! I have ample experience with newborns, infants, and toddlers, and I love kids of all ages and needs. I have babysat for children with special needs and behavioral differences, and I am always happy to accommodate any communication/behavioral/educational methods that your family prefers (though I do not have any specific certifications or training for different needs). I speak Russian and Spanish and I am happy to help children learning either language by simply speaking to them or working on certain vocabulary. Currently a media professional, I’ve always loved caring for others. I grew up with the mindset that if you take care of your community, your community will take care of you. I worked at my family’s daycare center for 5 years while in high school and some throughout college. While in college a volunteered at an underserved after school program, where I established a library and secured grants to expand the program. Working with families and children, while helping them flourish has always been a passion.

I am a pre-med biology graduate from Morgan State University and a certified medical assistant. These studies have strengthened my understanding of health and safety, which is crucial to being a competent caregiver. As I continue my path of education, I hope to become a pediatrician who expresses my genuine compassion for caring for kids, not just physically but emotionally as well. As one of the oldest kids in my family, I have been accustomed to babysitting for quite some time. From babysitting my newborn nieces and nephews overnight to watching my cousins for almost a week.
