Hi! My name is Cris I am from the Dominican Republic and I am based in Brooklyn. I have a BA in Anthropology + Social Practice. I have 4 years of experience in education: 2 years working in elementary after school programs as a creative writing teacher + 2 years as a full time middle school humanities teacher. Every summer for the last two years I have worked part time in a daycare, primarily caring for infants and toddlers. I currently work as an ELA teacher at an arts high school. I am passionate about community organization, art, literature, and learning. While enrolled in a research program in Costa Rica I worked in a small rural primary school as a teacher’s aid and English + Social Sciences instructor. I mostly worked with children ages 3-12 as well as children with special needs and disabilities. During this time I helped the school community organize fun and unique activities for the students and worked directly with parents to assist in their children's progress. Since then I have been part-time babysitting here in the states. My time working with children has taught me how to encourage, support, and provide a sense of safety and care. Overseeing both large and small classrooms has made me well equipped to handle and diffuse high stress situations with patience and caution. I would describe myself as a high energy, compassionate, patient sitter with a big heart. I enjoy teaching and reading to children, working on arts and crafts projects, and engaging their creativity. I am bi-lingual, I speak fluent English and Spanish. I am also happy to help with pet-care and domestic tasks such as laundry, light cleaning, errands, cooking meals, etc.
Hello Families! My name is De'Ja and I’m a grad student at NYU. I am off for the summer and would love to help you with your childcare needs! I have 5 years of experience as a freelance childcare provider and I am Tedi Bear Certified. I have a bachelors in Fine Arts and 3 years of experience as a children's actor for TV and Theatre. Before starting school, I was a theatre teacher for grades 6th-12th. I have a great passion for providing education and childcare to families in need!
“Amazing job”
Hi, I’m Reunet! I’m currently looking for weekend babysitting opportunities. I’ve babysat for two families and helped care for my nephew from infancy through early childhood. I’ve also spent a lot of time around children through family and my community. I’m caring, attentive, dependable, and take children’s safety seriously. I’m happy to help with homework, schoolwork, and light household tasks as needed. I have a STEM college background and am also a professional graduate. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, board games, puzzles, comedy, mystery novels, movies (especially a good plot twist!), music, and dancing. Thanks for reading! 😊
“Reunet is fantastic! Our toddler warmed up to her quickly, and wasted no time having her play games and read books to her. She is wonderfully communicative, timely, and has a warm energy that we very much appreciate. We're excited to have her back! Highly recommend.”
Hello there my name is Laura I am a mother off a 15 year old girl as a mother I got experience with babies and young children ,I love to play with them and am very use to babysit . I am can also drive in case they have to go some where . I am a kind, responsible and trustworthy person
I started working as a mother's helper at the age of 10, and have been babysitting ever since! In high school I worked as a nanny 20 hours a week for a wonderful family with two infants, and also volunteered at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital to ensure children separated from their parents for long periods of time were receiving the critical attention needed to develop their gross and fine motor skills. During college I worked as an occasional sitter for many different families in the D.C. area. I have been living in New York for about 5 years now and work full-time as a Copywriter at a creative agency, so I just take a few babysitting jobs each month on nights and weekend :) For five summers when I was 18-23, I worked as a counselor at Camp Onaway, a sleep-away camp for girls ages 8-15 in New Hampshire. After graduating from the University of Maryland in December 2016, I worked at a Swiss boarding school as a dorm counselor, Spanish Instructor, and as a ski instructor. In short, I LOVE hanging out with kids both younger and older! I have ample experience with newborns, infants, and toddlers, and I love kids of all ages and needs. I have babysat for children with special needs and behavioral differences, and I am always happy to accommodate any communication/behavioral/educational methods that your family prefers (though I do not have any specific certifications or training for different needs). I speak Russian and Spanish and I am happy to help children learning either language by simply speaking to them or working on certain vocabulary. I am happy to tidy the house or help out in the kitchen when babysitting, help with homework, run errands, etc. Thanks for your consideration!
