Creative, reliable, patient, and understanding. I have 15+ years experience working with children of all ages. As the oldest of 15 cousins, I began babysitting early and have always loved working with kids. I spent six summers as both a counselor and Arts + Crafts Department Head at an overnight camp in New Hampshire for kids ages 8-18, and earned degrees in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Vermont. I will always treat your little ones with respect and am comfortable navigating big emotions or challenging behaviors with a cool head and a positive outlook. I love finding fun and creative ways to make mundane tasks exciting, and love learning about children's interests and personalities to help them grow into their truest selves. I can support caregiving, learning, extracurriculars, household chores... I'm happy to jump in and help make your day-to-day a little easier! I have some experience with pets (mostly cats + dogs) and while I have less experience with senior care, I am confident that I have the right demeanor and skillset to provide those services if needed. A bit more about me: I enjoy cooking, live music, art, and exploring the city as a recent transplant from Quincy, MA. I spent the past six years working for a 3D Printing startup based in Boston where I lead Workplace Experience and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion efforts. My partner's career has recently brought us to NYC, a move I have been wanting to make for quite some time now. I visited the city frequently before our move and have a large network of friends living here, so while I am a new resident I have spent substantial time here and am comfortable with basic safety and transportation routes. Hello! I am currently a full-time therapist and per diem family support specialist. I am looking to earn extra income to help with my student loans. I have many years of experience with and a passion for helping children of all ages and developmental stages. I can provide child, senior, and pet care. I have been a babysitter for over 12 years, starting when I was in early high school. Additionally, I was a camp counselor for four years (children from 1st grade to juniors in high school), a YMCA afterschool counselor for one year (for 26 pre-K and 1st graders), and a teacher's aide (for 3 pre-K classes) for one year. I have worked with children from pre-K to high school. I have experience working with children and teens who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, existing on a range of verbal and nonverbal capacities, as well as children in foster care. I also helped care for seniors with chronic health conditions for a year too. I have provided these populations a range of services, including but not limited to safe supervised play, arts and crafts, tutoring, prepared snacks, and social skills. I was an executive assistant for a year so I can help with any administrative assistance. I can also help with household chores, errands, grocery shopping. I have been a pet (both dogs and cats) sitter, boarder, and walker for five years. I walked (two times per week for an hour), sat, and boarded one dog specifically regularly for one year. Overall, I have a passion, experience, and the care for working with children, seniors, and pets of all ages. I am kind, fun, detailed, and genuine.
Love cats! I can take care of multiple cats including ones with special needs. Happy to do overnight pet sitting if your cats need someone around more than a few minutes a day.
Hi, I’m Emma! I’m currently nannying part time! I worked in a multilingual preschool for 2 years where I lead group activities and focused on social emotional development. I have experience teaching swim lessons and working in other school environments with children aged 2-10. I also have experience working with seniors and end of life care.
Hi there! My name is Carley, and I am a recent master's graduate in art therapy. My education has given me a strong understanding of children’s unique needs, including how temperament and developmental stages (including creative development!) can shape the way a child experiences the world. I would love to bring along age-appropriate art materials to nurture your child’s self-expression and budding curiosities! My favorite part of caregiving is engaging with children’s imagination, along with the limitless questions and humor that often arise. I also enjoy approaching childcare with creative problem-solving. On multiple occasions, I have successfully distracted a child from a screen by drawing their favorite character and inviting them to color it. I have experience caring for children from infancy through the pre-teen years. I have lived in NYC for a decade and am also comfortable commuting with children on public transportation. My approach is collaborative — I want to work within your parenting style while taking the time to understand your child’s individual personality and inner world. I bring a warm presence, a playful spirit, and a genuine enjoyment of following children’s interests and seeing where their curiosity takes them.
