I have 4 going on 5 years of experience working with children in special education, ABA therapy, early intervention, private nannying, and childcare. Most of my experience comes from working at a school for children with autism and an early intervention center. I love keeping childcare fun, playful, and lighthearted, while also being comfortable working with a variety of behaviors, developmental needs, and communication styles. Hi! I’m a happy, loving, fun, and outgoing mom to a curious and energetic 3-year-old boy. I’m also an Early Childhood Education and Special Education major, as well as a paraprofessional with the NYC Department of Education, with hands-on experience working with children in both classroom and childcare settings. Throughout my college program, I complete approximately 120 hours of supervised fieldwork each semester, working with children of different ages in early childhood centers and classrooms. I'm Marina, and I'm based in Brooklyn. I currently work part-time as the Development and Partnerships Director for a nonprofit providing education and mental health support to women and girls in Afghanistan, and I have about 20-25 hours a week available for a family in need of extra help. I have 19+ years of experience working with children, from newborns through high school, across nannying, daycare, summer camp, tutoring, and classroom teaching. I've cared for children in one-on-one and group settings, for families in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and internationally, including families with high-profile backgrounds.
