I am a Portland native and I worked as a teacher for 4 years. I graduated with my BA from Lewis & Clark College and earned my MAT at the University of Portland. I am currently a volunteer on the board of a nonprofit and am starting up a small online business with an old friend. I enjoy soccer, hiking, singing with my gospel choir, teaching Girl Scouts how to sew, and I’m currently renovating a vintage Airstream. I started baby-sitting as a ten-year-old, and have since worked with children of all ages. Most of my experience is with elementary school age kids, but I love babies and toddlers as well. New to Portland, OR, I moved here with my husband and two cats from Nashville, TN so I could study naturopathic medicine at NUNM. Before starting medical school, I worked as a professional nanny and part-time babysitter for 4 years after graduating from Vanderbilt University with my bachelors. I’ve cared for children of all ages from infant to pre-teen and we always find a way to have fun and learn new to things! My responsibilities have included meal prep, drop off and pick up from school or camp, morning and nighttime routines, and general tidying of the house. I would describe myself as punctual, professional, and flexible under pressure. I have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. I have also house sat and dog watched for a family I had nannied for, where my duties included checking food and water, administering medicine, and taking her for walks. Hello, I’m Ivory! I am an independent college student, I just graduated 2025 at PSU with a bachelor of fine arts! I have taken 4 years of Spanish and would be happy to share basic Spanish vocabulary! I love drawing, painting, ceramics, and am working 7 years so far as a part time ice cream cake decorator. In my free time I enjoy singing, working out, and playing games with friends! I have experience babysitting my 3 nephews, and working with kids at church. I babysat for a girl 5 y/o girl until she was 7 y/o in the mornings getting ready for school with the occasional pickup from school. . I occasionally babysit a nonverbal 4y/o boy with autism since he was 1 year old. I’ve currently been babysitting a 3 year old girl on Saturdays for the last year! I have pet sitting experience too for dogs, cats, fish, and farm animals (I adore my cat Toulouse), I’ve been pet sitting my sisters golden doodle puppy occasionally. Hi! After successfully completing my time in the Navy, I'm currently working as a Field Service Engineer at a tech company but want to save more money for college and law school. Growing up, I took care of my sister off and on while my parents were out. When I turned 15, I started working as a lifeguard at my hometown's water park. And when I was 19, I worked for 6 months as a lifeguard at Disney World's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Contemporary Resort. I have spent most of my life taking care of kids and keeping them entertained but safe. I really enjoyed that work and hope I can achieve that again for you and your child.
