Joana here. I came from Brazil to SF in 2007, and have been living on Bernal Heights since then. I've been babysitting kids of all ages professionally for the past 15 years, in a wide range of ways. School pickups, taking to activities, sleep overs, date nights, back up nanny for the day, taking kids to museums, zoo, playgrounds, hikes, etc. I have traveled to 25 countries and love sharing my experiences. I own a fully insured car and have a clean driving record. I love the outdoors! I am healthy and usually kids like me. I'm responsible but also fun. I know how to do anything house related and don’t mind helping out. I love pets. I am flexible and adaptable to follow any philosophies that the family has chosen to guide their little ones. Punctuality, positivity and great communication are my main qualities. Hope to meet you soon. Cheers Minimum of 3 hours per job* I am a proud grandma of 2 boys 🩵 ***Please be considerate of my time as I don’t have any work benefits and only cancel if it is a real emergency. I don’t charge any cancellation fee because I believe in the goodness of people’s hearts.
Hello! My name is Clara and I recently moved back to the Bay to work for the city of SF managing child nutrition programs. In the years prior, I completed my B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology at Swarthmore College and my M.S. in Food and Nutrition Policy and Programs at Tufts University. I have experience as a camp counselor, nanny, teacher, and babysitter but my primary passion is food and cooking. I'm happy to introduce your child to healthy eating or basic knife and cooking skills! *PLEASE NOTE* I do require a minimum of 3 hours in order to accept a job. My minimum outside of SF is 4 hours. My rate for one child is $30/hr, my rate for two is $35/hr, and my rate for 3 is $42/hr. These minimum rates are non-negotiable. I strongly prefer cash, credit, or check. I do charge for the entire time booked, even if you arrive home earlier than the agreed end time. LATE POLICY: If you think you are going to be late or would like to stay out later, please send me a text or phone call an hour beforehand. If not notified, an overtime charge will be applied to double the time you are late. CANCELLATION POLICY: No fee for cancellation up to 48 hours notice. Under 48 hours notice will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. Under 24 hour notice will be charged full fee.
“Clara was fantastic. Arrived early, great communication. Fun to have around the house and super helpful. Immediately, connected with our baby. Highly recommended. ”
Hi families! I’m a Duke University & HBS graduate with 15+ years of experience caring for children from newborns through elementary age in both caregiving and educational settings (tutoring in Montessori school settings). I believe every child is unique, with their own temperament, routines, interests, and ways of communicating. My approach is to meet each child where they are, pay close attention to what helps them feel secure and engaged, and adapt my care to support their individual needs and development 🌱 I’m CPR and First Aid certified, fully vaccinated, and highly attentive to health and safety. I also have experience caring for infants and toddlers with severe allergies, including following EpiPen and emergency-response protocols. I offer occasional family support in San Francisco alongside my full-time career. I genuinely love partnering with families and supporting kids as they learn and grow through each stage of their development! 🤍 * Mission-based * 4 hour minimum bookings * Not available for full-time care
Hello, I am currently available for part-time or one time caregiving support. I am looking to supplement my retirement by continuing to do what I am most passionate about—working with children. I am CPR and First Aid certified and have 17 years of experience as a paraeducator in special education. In addition, I have 18 years of experience as a respite provider working with ambulatory clients on the autism spectrum. For the past 3.5 years, I have also served as co-owner and teacher at an infant daycare. The last two years I’ve helped with my daughter’s different foster babies (ages 3 days- 2 years) after work and on the weekends (Currently there are no fosters.) My experience is further informed by being a parent to a child on the autism spectrum, which has deepened my understanding, empathy, and commitment to quality care. I would welcome the opportunity to offer supportive, compassionate, and reliable care to your family. I have my immunizations up to date: Covid 12/25- Booster Flu 12/25 TDAP 5/22 MMR 6/22
