I am a credentialed Special Education Teacher and private tutor with thirteen years of teaching experience. I have worked with kids with a range of needs, and specialize in students with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, and 2E children. I have also been a sitter and nanny for many more years. I have significant experience with kids from newborn infants through high school age. As a sitter, I’m incredibly attentive and engaging with kids. I love to read with them, play games, do arts and crafts, play outside, and cook/ bake. I’m a great cook, and am happy to do meal prep services in addition to childcare as well. I have a B.A. from UC San Diego in International Relations, and a Master's Degree from CUNY Brooklyn College in Special Education. In my free time, I love to cook and bake, create pottery, spend time outside and on the water, and travel to new parts of the world! Cancellation Policy: If bookings are cancelled by the parent within 12 hours of the start time of the booking, I charge a fee of 50% of the total booking to help offset the loss of wages on short notice.
“Meagan was amazing!! Seamlessly jumped in and the girls immediately took to her. She covered for our nanny for 3 days for our 4 yr old and 1.5 yr old and I would use her again in a heartbeat. She is warm, loving, energetic and kept everything super tidy. 10/10, thank you Meagan!! ”
I have a masters degree in education and have worked with kids of all ages both in and out of the classroom for nearly 20 years. Personally, I love the outdoors, reading, writing, dancing, traveling and I love spending time with the people I love. Thanks so much for your time and consideration in advance! As a special education teacher, I am also offering online tutoring at the elementary level as well in the areas of reading intervention and math. Please send me a message if you are interested. Please note: I have a 4 hour minimum for babysitting and do charge for hours booked. Cash is always preferred whenever possible. Thank you greatly! “Vanessa has been a wonderful family assistant for our household. She is incredibly reliable, punctual, and consistent, which has made a huge difference in keeping things running smoothly. From the beginning, she has been steady, trustworthy, and easy to communicate with. Vanessa brings a calm, capable presence and handles responsibilities with care and professionalism. Whether it’s helping with schedules, transportation, or general household support, she follows through and can always be counted on. It is such a relief to have someone who is dependable and takes pride in doing things well. She has been a real asset to our family, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, stable, and supportive family assistant.”
Hello! My name is Erica 👋 I provide reliable in home childcare with the experience and skill of a preschool teacher. My childcare philosophy centers around patience, relationship, and silliness. While caring for children, I am constantly singing, dancing, and finding ways to make a mundane task fun. I view challenging behavior as an opportunity to teach emotional regulation and communication. I believe it's our job to teach children boundaries, so I lead with a firm but kind approach, always shame-free. I enjoy engaging children in intentional activities that work to improve developmental skills. My goal is to get the kids I care for out and about at least once a day, so walks and driving to fun activities (I have a car and am happy to use it!) are a must. I love finding out about the local parks, libraries, rec centers, museums, and music and art classes! Early childhood education is my passion and career focus. I’m currently in school at SFSU, finishing my bachelor's degree and teaching credential.
Hi there! I’m Sophia 😊 I have 10+ years of babysitting and childcare experience, and I’ve been part of UrbanSitter since 2018. I started babysitting in my neighborhood when I was younger, and I’ve loved working with kids ever since - especially after moving to San Francisco! I currently work a 9-5, so I’m available for part-time babysitting. I have experience with meal prep, school pickups and carpools, light housekeeping, and planning fun, engaging activities to keep kids happy and busy. I also spent 3 years volunteering part-time at a daycare, which gave me even more hands-on experience with children of different ages. I truly enjoy building connections with families and creating a safe, positive environment for kids!
“Sophia was fabulous with my kids and pets. They were very happy with her and are eager to have her come back again!”
