"Amina came and helped us out when our babysitter canceled last minute. She was great with our kids. Even our 11 month old son who has stranger anxiety warmed up to her."

Hi! My name is Claire, and I'm a recent college graduate from Columbia University. I love working with kids, and have been tutoring, babysitting, and volunteering as a camp counselor since I was 14 years old. I've worked with youth of all ages, from kindergarteners to high schoolers, for about ten years. I am currently an English tutor and volunteer mentor to refugee high school students with the International Rescue Committee. I consider myself a friendly person who loves reading bedtime stories and crafting. I'm more than happy to help with homework as well. While I'm not a native speaker, I was a Spanish tutor in high school and would be happy to help little ones with introductory level language practice. I'm also more than happy to help care for any furry friends or elderly loved ones you have at home. I look forward to meeting you! Update: Hi everyone, thank you to all the lovely families with whom I have had the joy of working during my time in DC! I will be moving to New York in June to begin a new job, so I unfortunately will only be able to take on one-time jobs over the next month for families in DC. Thank you!
“Claire was great! Our daughter kept talking about her the next day. ”
Hi! I’m Danielle. I’m certified in Anxiety Counseling and have been coaching kids and adults to incorporate wellness practices daily. I’m the proud author of the children’s book; Hugging Olivia. I’ve been providing childcare in the local DMV area since 2019 and have loved to see these little ones grow up.
“Danielle is extremely reliable, energetic and great with children. We had a great experience working with her - she is a great cook and was super sweet with my 2 year old son.”
Hi, my name is Andrea and I have experience working with children from newborn on up, in a variety of settings. I've worked as a babysitter over the years, as an after school teacher for 2nd-3rd graders, been a middle school cheer coach, and I've also worked as a sitter working at large events caring for children from newborn-middle school age. I am warm, compassionate, selfless and have a very big heart- especially for children. I enjoy a variety of activities with children and always do my best to omit or limit screen time so we can interact and engage instead.
“Andrea has been taking care of our kids for years, and has become like another member of our family. The kids love playing with her. She is so sweet and kind with our children, and appropriately firm when necessary. And when she cooks for the kids, coming home to a tidied kitchen is a bonus. Can't recommend her enough.”
Hi there! I’m Kristina — the oldest of my siblings and naturally the “big sister” type. I’m 16 years older than my youngest siblings, so caring for kids has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve also cared for my coworkers’ little ones and even my elderly grandfather, which taught me patience, responsibility, and compassion. I currently serve on both the Kids Team and Youth Team at my church, working with children from just a few weeks old up to 17 years old. I truly love helping kids grow, learn, and feel seen. I believe every child deserves someone who shows integrity, kindness, and care — and I strive to be that person in every interaction.
“Kristina was a great sitter! She arrived exactly on time, and was considerate and patient with my toddler who has a speech delay.”
Childcare: Experienced in toddler - teen care. I have taken care of new borns and children of varying ages for relatives. Experienced in first aid and child tutoring for any subject (I am a teacher). I can help with homework and can introduce the child to activities such as art and crafts if requested (I can send painting and knitting samples). Available to take kids to after school activities and others. House services: I can do deep clean, clearing up, room cleans and whole house cleans. Activities include organization, dishes, laundry (with instructions) and others as per request.
