Hi, my name is Crystal! I have a bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Family Therapy. Childcare has been my primary profession for the past 10+ years. I have experience with children of all ages but have mostly worked with 1-8 year olds. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I make a great sitter because I am very observant of each child’s individual needs. I always make sure to ask parents about their parenting style, rules, and expectations so I can remain consistent with how they raise their children. I also prioritize communication with parents and guardians. I am warm, energetic, creative, and pay great attention to detail. Kids always love how silly I am with them, and I make sure that we have a great time. Despite my playful approach, I make sure children follow their parents’ rules and expectations.
Hi! I'm Isabelle, am 29 years old and live in NYC. I have an AA in Art and a BA in Politics. I work as a case manager/community organizer at a food pantry on the UES. I used to babysit during college and always enjoyed it which is why I still occasionally enjoy picking up some gigs here or there :) I grew up in Germany with an American mother, a German father, and am the oldest of 4 siblings. I'm fluent in both German and English and have worked with bilingual kids in both a nanny and teaching environment. After graduating from HS in Germany and professionally working in the performing arts growing up, I was interested in working socially with families and kids who were less fortunate/had special needs. In the summer of 2015, I started an art+living project in Germany with kids and families who had fled their countries. In 2016, I became part of a therapeutic horse farm that focused on working with kids with special needs. I was the outdoor teacher and leader of an inclusive forest group consisting of 5-7 children aged 4-10 years old. Upon moving to the USA in 2017, I worked as a teacher at the Seattle Waldorf School and absolutely ❤️ it. In the summer of 2022, I worked with kids in Ukraine+Poland, primarily teaching or working with mothers and babies. I've been working with runaway homeless youth at places such as The Door and The Ali Forney Center for the past several years. Working with kids has always brought me joy and kept me grounded during hectic times. I nannied during undergrad and, while I have experience with children of all age ranges, I have primarily worked with infants and babies during their first year of life. I have experience with night-nannying, sleep training, feeding, and multiples. For those of you with older kids, bedtime routine is no problem either as I have had many longer term after-school gigs as well. I am confident in navigating the city responsibly, including school pick-up, and use of public transit. As a nanny, I'd describe myself as relaxed, punctual, reliable, flexible, confident, reasonable, communicative, consistent and dedicated. I very much enjoy working with families of different backgrounds, and I am absolutely LGBTQ+ family-friendly, being part of one myself. I can provide references and am happy to answer any further questions. I'm vaccinated and CPR trained. ⭐️ When I'm not nannying, I am playing soccer, going for a run, cheering on the WNBA+ NWSL, going out with friends or staying in with my books.
“Isabelle was great. On time, asked thoughtful questions and kept us updated on how our girl was doing. ”
My name is Sam, and I'm excited to introduce myself as a potential caregiver for your family! With over a decade of experience in childcare, including watching infants, toddlers, and kids since the age of 12, I bring a wealth of expertise and enthusiasm to the table. I went to the University of Virginia (UVA), and graduated in 2022. One of my favorite classes during my time there was Child Psychology! Beyond babysitting, I've spent four summers volunteering in a children's hospital. I had rotations in the NICU and on the long term care floors. I also served as a camp counselor at UVA's Camp Kesem, a week long summer camp for children whose parents have cancer. These experiences have deepened my understanding of child development and honed my ability to create a safe and engaging environment for kids of all ages. In addition to childcare, I'm more than happy to lend a hand with household tasks, whether it's cooking, cleaning, or running errands. Plus, being a pet lover myself, I'm fully equipped to provide top-notch care for your furry family members, including feeding, playtime, and walks. I'm eager to learn more about your family's needs and how I can contribute to making your lives a little easier and a lot more fun! Let's connect soon to discuss further. Thanks! Sam
“Samantha was awesome! Our daughter had a great time going on a Brooklyn adventure while I was there for work! So happy we met Samantha and my daughter felt so safe and comfortable with her! ”
Hiya! I have 15 years of experience working with kids of which I was a nanny for 10 years, and I’ve worked with children from 2 days old to 17 years old. I've also worked in several schools in different roles, working with students both with and without special needs ages 6-19. I spent the 2[removed] school year in San Antonio working as a mentor and tutor in a highschool with City Year, a well known AmeriCorps program. I worked with students on behavior, set goals for improving attendance, and wrote lesson plans as well as tutored them in English 1 and 2(9th and 10th grade) to improve their grades. I have previously taken child development courses pertaining to positive discipline, behavior, and nutrition, and my CPR classes are always up to date. I love going to the park, beach, museums, and anywhere worthwhile. I love to construct anything a child can think of out of various materials, and am open to any ideas that they can throw at me. I adapt to any given child's needs, as not all children are the same. I do however enforce rules and guidelines that I feel are needed to have a great time without harming anyone in anyway. I am open to different parenting styles and techniques and will adhere to them with your child. I have experience providing care during weddings, corporate events, family parties, theme parks, and full weekend/overnight care. Ask me about my overnight(24hrs of care) rate! My Calendar is ALWAYS* (*99.1% of the time) up to date, I try my hardest to update it asap whenever something changes. *I do NOT accept bookings that have no message, or information about the booking, or contain the standard message provided by Urbansitter. Please send me a brief message about the day and your child(ren) This is for both of our benefit, so that I know if I will be the best fit for you as well as knowing if I am what you are looking for in the person you want to take care of your child!(: I have a 4 hour minimum, I may accept jobs less than that but I don't always; if I do accept it I do require to be paid for at least 3 hours. Cancelations with less than 72 hours notice have a fee of 50% of booked time. Cancelations with less than 24 hours notice must be paid in full. I budget based on bookings and when a booking is canceled it directly impacts my budget. Thank you for understanding. I am vaccinated, and expect any family that I work with to be vaccinated as well, including all children in my care aged 5 and older.
“Loved Natalia! She was great with my 3 month old, was super friendly and very experienced. Can’t wait to book her again! ”
Hi, I’m Lucia! Brooklyn has been my home for over a decade, though I’m originally from California. As the eldest of three and the first grandchild among 30 cousins, I’ve been caring for children of all ages for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of looking after wonderful kids, ages 1.5–16, and many families have told me I became their child’s favorite sitter—the highest compliment I could hope for! I love getting to know each child’s unique personality and tailoring activities to what excites them most—whether that’s baking cookies, arts & crafts, reading stories, or spending time outdoors. My focus is always to keep little ones safe, happy, and engaged. Families describe me as punctual, kind, patient, fun, and fully present. Please feel free to check my references—they’re filled with kind words from families I’ve had the privilege to work with. I would be honored to care for your child and create a nurturing, playful space where they can thrive. I look forward to connecting! Warmly, Lucia
“Lucia was awesome! Super sweet and punctual. We will hire her again!”
