Hi! My name is Katrina! š Iāve been the go-to babysitter for my family and friends for many years, and Iāve been caring for children ranging from about 5 months to 9 years old since I was a teenager. Iāve always loved being around kids, and honestly, working with them has always just come naturally to me. Iām patient, caring, dependable, and I really enjoy making kids feel comfortable, happy, and understood. I currently work as a Paraprofessional with the NYC Board of Education in Williamsburg, where I work closely with children in special education. Iāve worked one-on-one with children with ADHD, autism, developmental delays, speech disorders, and different sensory and behavioral needs. Iāve also worked with children from Pre-K through 2nd grade, so Iām very comfortable with different ages, personalities, routines, and learning styles. When I babysit, I donāt want kids to feel like theyāre just being āwatched.ā I love keeping them busy with fun, age-appropriate activities while still giving them structure and following their normal routines. Depending on your childās age and interests, we might: ⢠š¶ Sing songs and play movement games ⢠š Practice days of the week, months, letters, numbers, etc. ⢠šØ Color, do crafts, and other hands-on activities ⢠š¢ Play counting and early-learning games ⢠š Dance, listen to music, and have a little fun ⢠š Read stories and have story time ⢠š§ Bake or do simple kitchen activities (Iām actually a baking & pastry graduate!) Iām especially comfortable working with children who may need a little extra patience, structure, reassurance, or help communicating their needs. I always try to meet each child where they are and make sure they feel safe, respected, and comfortable with me. ⨠Availability: Pickups, summer days, occasional weekends, school/DOE days off, and other occasional babysitting needs. I currently have availability for Wednesdays through Fridays ! Iād love the chance to get to know your family and hopefully become someone you and your little one feel comfortable having around. š
āKatrina has been an amazing sitter to our two kids (and dog!) for many years. She's so sweet, very reliable, engaging and fun with the kids. She's thoughtful and comes up with fun activities, the kids love her and we consider her family. She is bright, warm and tidy.ā
I have a lifetime of experience working with children. Iāve been babysitting regularly since I was old enough, have worked as a full-time nanny, and have extensive understanding of childcare and learning through my mother, who runs a preschool in Connecticut. Iāve worked at her school directly and have also held several long-term babysitting and nannying positions, with kids ranging from infants through 12-year-olds. Iām also a freelance designer, so my schedule is flexible! Iām high-energy, ebullient, and genuinely love to playāwhy shouldnāt it be fun for both of us? Iām especially interested in activities that spark kidsā curiosity while helping them build skills and a deeper understanding of the world. Iām very hands-on and love to craft, make things, and get immersed alongside kids. I went to film school and enjoy doing creative projects such as making short movies together, which can be a great way to combine storytelling, collaboration, and play. Iām also comfortable preparing meals and snacks, and enjoy putting together food that works for kids and their routines. I had wonderful babysitters growing up, and really canāt overstate how much I value the time I spent with them! I also spent part of my childhood in the city, and know how rich and engaging it can be for a developing person with the right kind of guidance. I was raised around Reggio Emilia principles (my mom is Bank Streetāeducated, and I went to a Reggio school myself), and those ideas have deeply shaped how I think about children, learning, and play. I aim to be someone kids feel excited to spend time with and parents feel completely confident trustingācurious, attentive, and genuinely invested in making each day engaging, supportive, and fun. Iām new to this site, but have some fantastic references should you like to speak to someone! Donāt hesitate to reach out, thanks so much :-)
Hello! I am currently a full-time therapist and per diem family support specialist. I am looking to earn extra income to help with my student loans. I have many years of experience with and a passion for helping children of all ages and developmental stages. I can provide child, senior, and pet care. I have been a babysitter for over 12 years, starting when I was in early high school. Additionally, I was a camp counselor for four years (children from 1st grade to juniors in high school), a YMCA afterschool counselor for one year (for 26 pre-K and 1st graders), and a teacher's aide (for 3 pre-K classes) for one year. I have worked with children from pre-K to high school. I have experience working with children and teens who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, existing on a range of verbal and nonverbal capacities, as well as children in foster care. I also helped care for seniors with chronic health conditions for a year too. I have provided these populations a range of services, including but not limited to safe supervised play, arts and crafts, tutoring, prepared snacks, and social skills. I was an executive assistant for a year so I can help with any administrative assistance. I can also help with household chores, errands, grocery shopping. I have been a pet (both dogs and cats) sitter, boarder, and walker for five years. I walked (two times per week for an hour), sat, and boarded one dog specifically regularly for one year. Overall, I have a passion, experience, and the care for working with children, seniors, and pets of all ages. I am kind, fun, detailed, and genuine.
