Hi! I’m Nika. Pronounced “Knee-ka.” I’m 25 years old and originally from Tennessee, but I’ve been living in North Carolina since 2022 and absolutely love it here. I’m currently a college student pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, with over 50 credit hours completed so far. My goal is to become a teacher one day, but for now, while I’m in college, I’m focused on gaining experience and supporting families through childcare. I come from a very large and family-oriented background with over 20 siblings so I’ve literally been around children my whole life. I’ve always had a natural connection with kids and find so much joy in being part of their growth. Watching them learn, develop new skills, and grow into their personalities is truly rewarding. I have over five years of paid childcare experience across several roles. I started at a daycare as a floater in the infant classrooms, caring for babies aged 3 to 11 months. I handled tasks like bottle prep, feeding, transitioning to solids, tummy time, naps, and diaper changes. In the afternoons, I would help school-aged children (6–8 years old) with homework and tutoring. After moving to NC, I became an assistant teacher at a preparatory academy, working with toddlers (12–16 months) on walking, speech, and fine motor development.
