For eight years, I have had the privilege of assisting families as a nanny for children from infancy through adolescence. I was previously with a family of 6 children, all under age 6, which included a set of twins on the autism spectrum. Every day was an adventure but it was the most rewarding experience so this just might be my calling. I am patient, creative, and innovative. I am just as comfortable with newborns as I am with teenagers. For newborns and infants, I am very experienced with implementing a sleeping and eating schedule, introducing solids, toilet training, and meeting milestones. For children, I enjoy introducing them to new sports and engaging activities such as baking and arts and crafts. I am able to assist with homework and tutoring using various methods, whether it be visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. I am a firm believer in positive communication and believe it is important to teach children how to communicate their emotions. I use emotion cards or simply have a conversation and after a rough day I most commonly introduce art or sound therapy. I am experienced caring for more than one child at a time and of all abilities. I am happy to help prepare snacks and cook meals, light housekeeping, and swimming supervision. I am First Aid, CPR, and AED trained. I believe in open communication and will always keep you informed about your child’s day, using your preferred method.
