Gillian 1 review
$30 per hour for 1 child

Hi, I’m Gillian! I'm an experienced childcare provider and outdoor educator with over 15 years of working with children of all ages. For the past 5 years, I’ve also been an adventure sport instructor, teaching mountain biking, rock climbing, swimming, and skiing. I bring a safety-first mindset to every activity and strive to build genuine, compassionate relationships with every child in my care. I have extensive experience supporting children with developmental differences, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, depression, and anxiety. I aim to create a calm, predictable, and nurturing environment that allows each child to feel safe, seen, and supported in their own unique way. I'm certified as a Wilderness First Responder and hold current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications through the American Heart Association. Whether we're exploring the outdoors or engaging in quiet, imaginative play, I tailor my approach to meet each child where they’re at emotionally, developmentally, and physically. I also bring experience with pet- and child-friendly housekeeping, and I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, including my own family’s rescue pups. I have a reliable SUV and a clean driving record, and I'm happy to help with transportation as needed. I'm currently based in Palo Alto and looking for part-time or full-time work. I would love to partner with a family that values empathy, inclusion, and adventure. Looking forward to connecting!

This past summer, I was a Camp Director for Avid4 Adventure, and Gillian worked for me as an Instructor. Our Instructors were tasked with working with another Instructor and taking responsibility of a camper group (ranging from 5-15 kids, Gillian worked with campers ranging from 7-12 years old) for a week. They would be in charge of managing the group, taking them to different recreation areas to perform a range of sports (kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, biking, and climbing) , and teaching them company and sports specific lessons. Our season was 8 weeks long, and Gillian started a couple weeks in after undergoing training in our PNW training session. From Day 1, Gillian impressed me with her ability to engage kids in fun and creative ways. With campers, she is bright and fun and has a great ability to meet kids at their level. When working with younger kids, she did a great job of making the sport accessible to their level, and keeping them involved mentally and physically in the day. With older kids it is common to have kids who don't want to engage in activities or games that they deem "too kiddy" but she was great at approaching them and encouraging them to buy-in to the camp environment. With Co-Instructors, she was very efficient and communicative. She made plans for the day, communicated well, advocated for others to abide by the companies safety guidelines, and advocated for camper needs. She did not hesitate to let me know about when she thought something could change or be fine-tuned for a safer or more efficient experience, and that open communication was something I appreciated about her so much. Gillian's attitude was also amazing. She is someone who elevates others to a higher level. She also has many years of experience in the outdoors industry leading trips, keeping kids and adults safe on outdoor adventures both in the States and abroad. When you hire Gillian, you will get someone who is knowledgeable, communicative, passionate and driven. She will provide your family with an amazing experience and you'd be missing out not to choose her!

Kriss $25 per hour for 1 child

Hi, my name is Kriss. I'm 26 years old. I'm a bilingual nanny (Spanish-English) with 5 years of childcare experience, including 3 years in Peru and 2 years in the U. S. During my first year as an Au Pair, I cared full-time for a baby from 5 months old. Currently, I work alongside my sister caring for six children, including newborn twins, an infant, toddlers, and a preschooler. I truly love working with children and I'm a loving, patient, responsible, and reliable caregiver. I enjoy reading, singing, dancing, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and teaching Spanish. I studied music in Peru and love sharing creativity with children. I am respectful, organized, and happy to support the family with light household tasks. I also love animals and would be glad to help with pets. My goal is to create a safe, happy, and nurturing environment where children feel loved and supported.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
