🌟 Looking for New Families! 🌟 Hi! My name is Brooke. I'm originally from the Bay Area, spent the last five years in Denver, and recently moved back home. I've always loved nannying and babysitting. I have a background in theatre and love being creative, putting on shows, playing games, and using my imagination with the children I care for. I truly enjoy spending time with kids and often joke that I'm a kid at heart myself. 😊 I have an older sister, and when my cousin was born when I was 8 years old, I discovered how much I loved being around children. Watching her grow and spending time with her sparked a passion that eventually led me to nannying, which has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. I consider myself highly responsible, dependable, and respectful of others' time. I pride myself on being a strong multitasker, a fast learner, and someone who can solve problems while still creating a fun, engaging environment for children. I communicate clearly, follow instructions well, and always strive to make life easier for the families I work with. One important boundary I have is that I do not provide care for sick children. Unfortunately, I tend to get sick easily, and when that happens it affects my ability to fulfill commitments to other families and responsibilities. If a child is actively sick when I arrive and I was not informed beforehand, I may need to leave. I greatly appreciate open communication regarding illness so that we can respect each other's time and expectations. I value reliability, honesty, and mutual respect, and I look forward to connecting with families who do as well. Feel free to reach out—I would love to chat and see if we're a good fit!

Professional and thoughtful!

Hi! My name is Laisa. I’m a 35-year-old career nanny from Brazil with 20+ years of childcare experience, including more than 10 years specializing in infants and toddlers—an age group I truly love and where my passion for childcare lies. My caregiving style is loving, respectful, gentle, and responsive. I believe every child is unique, so I take the time to understand their individual needs, personality, and routines while following and respecting each family’s parenting style, values, and boundaries. I’m also flexible and adaptable, understanding that schedules and needs can change from day to day. I love supporting children’s development through meaningful interaction and age-appropriate activities, including talking, reading, singing, sensory play, and opportunities to build their language, motor skills, confidence, curiosity, and independence. I enjoy getting outside with children whenever possible, as well as creating engaging activities at home. I’m energetic, attentive, reliable, and committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged to explore and learn. Clear and open communication is very important to me. I want parents to feel informed and connected throughout the day, so I’m happy to share photos, videos, and a daily update covering their child’s activities, meals, naps, mood, and milestones. Most importantly, I see childcare as more than simply supervising a child. I strive to become a trusted partner to the family and to build a strong, respectful, and long-term relationship while providing the highest level of care. I take my commitments seriously and do not cancel unless there is an emergency. I also require agreed-upon hours to be guaranteed, with NO BANKING OF HOURS! References: To respect my previous families’ privacy, I provide letters of recommendation upon request. Reference phone numbers are shared only after an in-person meeting or trial day, once we both feel it’s a good fit and would like to move forward. If my experience and style of caregiving align with your family’s values, I’d love to connect! Extras to consider: • $40/hour net minimum — W-2 or cash • Guaranteed weekly hours • PTO & paid sick days • Federal holidays • Monthly health stipend • Overtime at 1.5× after 8 hours/day, per California law Best, Laisa

We had a very successful trial day with Laisa that led us to hire her as our part-time nanny. Laisa brought a gentle, patient, and inquisitive energy to caring for our 3-month old. She took all of our directions to heart and even sought out ways to help with additional baby-related chores. Our baby was very comfortable with Laisa and Laisa showered him in the near-constant interaction and attention he craves. Laisa has already worked so hard to accommodate our schedule and preferences. We can't wait to watch her relationship with our baby develop long-term. Highly recommend Laisa for part-time nannying, one-off babysitting days, or any other child-related care!

Hi! My name is Andrea and I am a 20 year old living in Oakland (Rockridge). Fun fact- I am 5th generation! I have been so lucky to have worked with children since I was 12 and for all of my previous jobs. I am comfortable caring for all ages! I have worked for •East bay Regional Park District• and •City of Oakland• as a recreation leader for after school programs and summer camps! I have worked for multiple families over the years and look to build more relationships with you and your children. To me it is very important to get a child out in nature and explore and experience everything in the outside world so I love to go on walks and out the house if that is possible with your child. I absolutely love all animals and am more than willing to care for them! I can help with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and any other. My goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow. I look forward to meeting you and your family! I am more than happy to do overnights and travel. CPR certified! I do not smoke! Do not drive! Please be sure of your hours before booking-you still pay for hours listed even if home early. If you want to extend hours, I am okay with that as long as there is clear communication! Thanks :)

Hi all, My name is Mmadi! (Yes, with two M’s! Lol) I am a 30 year-old alumna of California State University - Sacramento, where I earned a degree in Business Communications and Marketing with a minor in Africana studies. I come from a large Nigerian family and I’m the second of five children. Growing up, my mother, who is a labor and delivery nurse, taught me everything there is to know about infant and child care and development. I worked full-time as a professional nanny from 2020 to 2024. When I began with the family, they had a 3-month-old. During my tenure, I also cared for their second child who was born in 2023, raising both until my departure. I have a wealth of experience in babysitting my younger siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and family friends. In addition, I have taught Sunday school and independently managed the children's day care at my church for almost nine years. Taking care of 5-10 children every Sunday ranging from newborns to 10 years old in age. During my time in college, I completed numerous child development and psychology courses. I also have a basic understanding of the Spanish language, having taken three years of it in high school. I have been an UrbanSitter member since the summer of 2016 and have worked with over 500 families, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I look forward to hearing from you soon! "We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
